    Chiefs v Reds 7/6 QF

Away teams have a very ordinary qf record in Super Rugby, even more so for Australian team in NZ, so the chiefs will be pretty strong favorites and most likely winners. Having said that, I'm not convinced they are actually good, as opposed to the top 3 teams. And the Reds might be, and can be good. So...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

This is without even getting into the Rebels agreeing to a payment plan with ATO and then defaulting on it which happened at least twice, and this was after the ATO rejected the initial payment plan because they didn't think the Rebels could achieve it

    Queensland Reds 2025

There's a Stan executive shaking her head in disbelief somewhere right now, knocking a few more million off the next broadcast deal.

Yep. World Rugby residency regulations for students are from "age of majority"

    Rebels v Drua

Thought Lomani's yellow was an error from the Ref crew. The ball touched the goal line before he kicked it. Scrum is over and all offside lines disappear as soon as that happens. Didn't make much difference in the end. Perhaps one for the ref thread.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Moana and Sunwolves get 5 games

    Wallabies 2024

Never, not even in his junior or league days

    Wallabies 2024

The context to this - this is World Cup stats. This shows Eddie's game plan. Optasports had Australia as the team with the worst backline in the whole comp.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The transfer was debt free. We know this because of the publically available accounts. RA may have been shocked at the finances, but it wasn't because of the debt.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The Rebels probably should have followed the Tahs prudent policy of publishing their accounts
  11. Strewthcobber

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The Rebels didn't overspend compared to the other teams at least from what we can see publically. They had significantly less revenue than the other teams though

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

Match winning play of the night, Taj Annan with the ankle tap on Perese at 80:35 to save the Junkyard Dog's blushes

    Waratahs v Reds - Friday 31/5

Tom Lynagh as the worst moustache in World Rugby. There, I said it

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The fact Geoff Parkes can write that sentence without mentioning that Leigh Clifford is the father of one of the previous Rebel board just makes me question the whole article. I admire Geoff's passion here, but his unacknowledged links to the "consortium" undermines his journalism.

Second assumption - as far as publicly available info goes on "match day" expenses and revenue, the Super Rugby teams don't lose money on stadium hire - it appears that they at least make enough money from tickets to pay the stadium. Thge Tahs get stadium rebates which improve things even more. For the...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

In th unlikly event it even takes place, the pretty simple, brutal and likeliest solution is Moana Pacifica doesn't get a game

    Australian Rugby / RA

Reds are OK with $5m of sponsorship a year, but Tahs and Brumbies have nowehere near that. The broadcast deal is what it is - and has to fund plenty of other RA stuff, not just Super Rugby. Those two Super Rugby teams have to work out a way of attracting more sponsorship $$$ if the pro sport is going to survive...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

In Feb the Rebel's administrator made all coaches and staff redundant, and then RA re-employed most of the coaches on a 4 month contract

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

This is what the administrator stated re that one. My understanding is once a team enters administration, they haven't met their obligations and lose their licence. The Rebels argument will be RA's actions (eg cutting funding) forced them into administration.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The proposed chair is an existing director's father! Unless we ever get to see who the proposed board was, and their links to the existing directors who all owe DPNs, I don't think we can take that statement at face value
