    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Reds go forward 1m then back 1m, and the scrum goes now. Reset. The Reds are still going this with a 7 man scrum, heh.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Horne smashes Greene. Scrums not moving there, Tahs eventually folded. Would prefer teams being told to play the ball in those situations as the Reds weren't really moving even though the Tahs folded.

Well, fitting end to a messy second half. Lots of scrums.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Always been a there, just rarely ruled on. Number 8 can only pick up the ball when it's at his feet, he can't reach into it to get it.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Reds 7 man scrum puts too much pressure on the Tahs to hook well and Holloway gets penalised on a technicality. Maybe bit harsh there, don't see that called much.

Great maul defence from the Tahs there, the Reds maul goes nowhere. Knock on from Matijow by the looks.

Tilse a naughty boy cleaning out Ready gives the Reds a chance to take away the Tahs bonus point.

Talakai off for 10 for interfering with Lucas off a quick tap. Tahs managing to get the ball out of a back peddling scrum, that's the different between the NRC and the Super Rugby teams - they are coached to get the ball out quickly when you're heading backwards.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

"Both teams have been poor in the second half ... expect more from the Waratahs." Kafe saying what everyone was thinking. Would love to see McIntyre stand about 5m forward.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Yeah, giving Graham excuses :( If the Reds are going down like this, I really hope the teams don't keep taking their foot off the throat. At least there's been a few positives for Reds fans. Not many, but a few.

Yup, they were just waiting to be woken up. Reds score and normal play resumes.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Bonus point gone for now from the Tahs as McIntyre goes over nearly untouched. Been mostly Frisby sparking the Reds. You'd expect the Tahs to wake up at some stage and get that bonus point back, but they haven't been in the game for the last 20 minutes, it's just been the Reds messiness.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Tahs of the last few years were ruthless more often than not I thought, but it's still early days in this season yet. Perhaps the Reds are just becoming good at dragging down teams to their level.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Well, it was pretty much expected before the game that all the Reds would really have in advantage is the scrum.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

Pretty sure that was Shipperley, not Ioane, but otherwise probably yup. Not that it will matter against this Reds team, they are not anywhere near where they were 2010 - 2013.

    Waratahs v Reds Rnd 1 2016

I reckon that if there's a market for the Reds to score < 10 points, you should be all over it.

    Reds 2016

I have a theory that in 2013 Graham was forced to implement an aggressive defensive system by Link. Graham doesn't believe aggressive is the best way, and when he got control he switched systems to a more passive defensive style.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Agree on the rest, but pretty sure Mowen as a schoolboy and U21 rep player as 8, joined the Reds as an 8 and moved to the Tahs to play 8. Mowen was always an 8, just a different sort of 8 to the bruiser style. Although his style could look more like a blindside at senior level, I think that...

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

Paraka is injured, Kite went to the ACT to try to make the Brumbies (then disappeared, injured?), Feao is with the Eagles this NRC I think? Kotze and McDuling went overseas (Kotze Europe?, McDuling SA), not sure on Buchanan. Browning and Schatz are injured, I think both should be back for...

    Reds 2016

I would like to see Laloifi get a shot ahead of Kuridrani at this stage. Been really impressed with the improvement in Laloifi, and he's learnt to use his lack of size to his advantage. Kuridrani seems to have all the attributes to be very good, he just makes so many mistakes for mine.
