    2022 Super W Season

I was disappointed to see the Positive Rugby Foundation running a fundraising lunch for the Tahs Super W squad. Not that they were doing it but that they had to. Should be funded by the Tahs entirely. Hopefully a means to do this is found in the future.

    2022 Super W Season

Well, there was news of the Rebels women starting to be paid for their time late last year. But I get the point. It's something we need to somehow work towards.

    Are you "Rugby" enough?

Looking to get back into playing this year. Over 35s. I've coached in the past particularly when my kid brother was playing but he quit in year 9. My nephew is rapidly approaching the age to play minis and my brother is working on my SiL to be okay with him playing so I may jump back in to...

    2022 Super W Season

While I'm glad to see it back in a non-abridged format. I'm a bit disappointed that we're not seeing a full home and away schedule. We need to develop our women's structure so that they're more robust and provide more games. Much like our means. Both the English and French have done so in their...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Finally officially confirmed. What's really great is it will be a full round robin so each team will get 9 games. Some really interesting things going on at present. An interview with the Portuguese HC mentioned not only are Italy visiting in June (Italy have started to really engage with their...

    Waratahs 2022

Not bad. Part of me thinks in that in lieu of an Super Rugby 20s competition perhaps the Tahs could run Gen Blue in the Shute Shield.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, hopefully both teams are performing well then. If they are that'll draw the viewership we want to see. I just think we should be looking to maximise our exposure and that means being very selective in our FTA games. That means that it won't necessarily be the fairest splits but if it in...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Even then. If I were in charge of the scheduling I'd have certain fixtures that I fight tooth and nail to keep on FTA. Tahs v Reds is a no brainer.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I understand but you want to have your best rating games on the broader platform. The Tahs/Reds game last season drew 97k. Could have cracked the 100k this year. I'll be tuning in regardless but it's a missed opportunity and I can't fathom why RA would agree to this scheduling.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

That's just stupid planning. The Tahs host the Reds in what is our biggest rating game each season and it's not gong to be the FTA game. Seriously.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

If you look at Spikhaza's post above the corresponding game last year drew 65k. We all know the Rebels and Force don't draw as many as Reds/Tahs, Tahs/Brumbies, Reds/Brumbies. But that represents a 14% increase on the game from last season. If we can average that across the board this season...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Caught two women's games last night. One from the Europeans Womens Rugby Championship and the other from the WRWC qualification event in Dubai. In the European game the Netherlands hosted Spain. It wasn't pretty for the Netherlands. The Spanish bombed probably 10 try scoring opportunities...

    Super Rugby 2022

I think a lot of that comes down to the style of play. Watching the Crusaders/Hurricanes game to say tackling was optional at times alongside competing at the breakdown would be a pretty accurate assessment. The key for our teams come facing them is to up the intensity in the contact and not...

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

Hey, at least they're aware of the nature of the game as per Tate.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

Good to see a big body in Ioane actually playing to their size.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

As mentioned in the broadcast he's not been helped by his support cast. But yeah. Not the happiest night for the young bloke.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

Wing. Looks genuinely dangerous with the ball in hand.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

    No he didn't.

    Super Rugby 2022

Our teams like to play a more direct, physical style against one another.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

Lots of excuses coming in for the handling. Which I bloody hate. They're professional footballers.
