    Wallaby Watch 2014

Yeah, I take the point. I guess I wasn't saying so much we need to cap new guys as we need to give some of the fringe, but in form, guys a proper run to see what they're made of? You obviously want to try and build some continuity heading into 2015, but I do think we need to play around a bit...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

There's a few areas of need I reckon, or at least areas where we need to have a serious look at some of the depth players and combinations. Need to see what we've got at lock, hooker, THP, scrumhalf, flyhalf, both centres and wing. Worth having a look at a few project players too, who might...

    Rebels v Sharks, R12 @ AAMI Park

Nah. They're just trying to develop a bit of depth. Worth the experiment against a weaker team I reckon.

    Rebels v Sharks, R12 @ AAMI Park

Big game for Jones I reckon, especially if Alberts plays lock. Jones is taller and lighter, but that's the level of physicality I'd like to see him playing at. I'd actually love to see some sort of loan/exchange system in rugby.Guys like Jones, Neville, Reid, McMahon etc. could learn a huge...

Can't agree with that. I'm with you on Slipper, Moore, Fardy, Hooper, To'omua and Folau but there's plenty of questions about the others.

    Rebels 2014

Where'd you hear that Lilo wants to play 12, not 10?

    Rebels 2014

@daz, I agree he gets a bit of unfair stick, but I fear I may crack if I have to watch him going for those ridiculous 25 metre checksides for touch come penalty time. He's not as bad as some people say, but he's still not all that.

    Rebels 2014

Even if it was gameplan stuff, a conservative coach like McGahan will have Barnes kicking allllll the time. We don't have a team geared up to play that sort of territory game. We're better off getting a passing/running flyhalf like Lilo who still has a reasonable kicking game.

    Rebels 2014

Not a huge fan of it. Mainly because I have horrifying memories of him kicking at every single possibly opportunity. I don't like what he brings at flyhalf, I'm not sure he offers more than Woodward at fullback and I've enjoyed Inman at 12 this year. Next year English or Kingston to 13, Veainu...

    Rebels 2014

Forgot about the bye. In that case Veainu should be on the bench at least. Have to wait and see how Weeks pulls up I guess. Few other thoughts from Friday. McMahon needs to be careful with his lifting tackles. Every time he does one, normally once a game, I freak out that he's going to lose...

    Rebels 2014

I'd be starting Veainu if fit. But since he's coming back from injury a week in clubland won't help. Sau deserved his start after his game against the Highlanders, when Kingston got injured, but I reckon it's time to give Kingston another crack. Think Tommy English needs to lift his game. He's a...

    Rebels 2014

Neville's start against the Force in Round Three was one of the worst efforts I've ever seen from a player in the Soup. Not surprised it's taken this long for him to be trusted again. Still, he's put in a big game and deserves the chance to go again. I'd start Burgess and Kingston but leave...

    Rebels 2014

Neville was actually better on Friday than Pyle has been all year. I'd give him another start. It was nice having a dominant scrum for one thing.

    Waratahs 2014

Worth giving Beale a run on a wing? Play that second fullback role. Give him a bit of a roving commission, put Crawford or Betham on the other wing and you're good to go.

    Rebels 2014

Sure. Nearly everyone would back in the player on the team they support. That's human nature. I really have no problem with McCalman, to my eyes he's been the form No. 8 in Australia and will deserve a Wallaby jersey if he keeps it up. I felt on Friday that he had marginally less impact than...

    Rebels 2014

I agree with @en_force_er. We don't really have the advanced stats to make a purely numbers driven analysis of a players game. They're interesting, but far too basic to tell us anything we didn't already know. The eye test said to me that Higgers had the better game, but that neither were...

Rebels vs Force, Round 10, 2014

Your tears make me so very, very, happy. Nice to see the good guys get up. A lot of cheap shots from the Force tonight. Lucky they didn't see a couple of boys in the bin. Jones was immense, form lock in Australia. Scrum was great. Higgers outplayed McCalman. Stirzaker better, still behind...

    Rebels 2014

You seriously reckon those two are better than Lilo? You're dreaming. Hegarty is okay and literally no one knows what Debrezcni will be like. Before he destroyed his ankle a couple of years back he was comfortably the best flyhalf in Australia. For whatever reason the Brumbies have since...

    Reds 2014

Is that where he landed up? He was looking really good for the Rebels at the end of last year, then looked more than handy in the ITM Cup as well. I was seriously unhappy we let him go and kept certain other outside backs on the roster. He's still got things to learn, but he's definitely up to...

Sounds like we should probably make him captain too.
