SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

One suggestion is potentially eradicating the existence of a rugby community or two and the other is simply providing a different model for all parties to thrive. It’s not that hard to understand the difference in severity. Of course there is different standards because there is different...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I’m very happy with Pone staying, however I’d be hypocritical if I didn’t think the Rebels have too many quality TH. Ino Eloff a LH these days but apart from Brums could legit be starting TH at any other Aus franchise. Aus rugby needs to be better at attracting talent to the other franchises...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

If probed that’s when he says “Australia have made up their mind to have 5 teams, and that’s what this competition will have. Any discussion on their future is at the hands of RA. The amount of Australian teams will always be handled by Australian decision makers” Or “it’s inappropriate for me...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Why make comment? He knows exactly what he’s doing by saying it, both parties know exactly what they are doing when talking to the media. It would be like Hamish coming out and saying NZ should ditch the NPC so super rugby can become a proper home and away 22 week league.

Isn’t what I put judging him on what he’s done at his workplace. Origin camp selection World Cup selection for Samoa 18 try’s in 36 appearances That is his work output. So I don’t see what your point is. Just someone trying to convince themselves he’s worse than he is. Comparing a forklift...

A quality round in my circles is if you hit in the high 80s or low 90s lol

whether he’s worth $1.6m or not, anyone questioning his talent is a numpty. He’s still eligible for the current u20s team, was a star at the (yes lesser quality) rugby league World Cup and brought into wider origin camp last year. There is only a minuscule amount of people that have achieved...

Good to see Jack Hardy get a run. The injuries he suffered at the start of his career didn’t help his chances.

Taj Annan a no go for me, haven’t seen anything in limited opportunities for both junior wallabies and Reds to suggest he will be either elite ball player or a carrying presence. CFS too broken. Walton would be a good shout. I think Gordon comfortably bigger than Jorgensen. Will seriously come...

Cannot agree with this. Tuttle is inferior and not sure if it’s even a contest. Neither are high end quality. Sorovi might struggle to find another pro contract. Other than getting to the ruck quicker they are both inferior kickers, their pass speed is worse, accuracy not at the same level and...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Wanted to move the conversation from Reds forum to here. I get the impression Tuttles time at the Rebels could come to an end if both player and another club wanted the move. He was immediately overtaken by Louwrens this year and didn’t see a lot of time off the bench each week, despite been...

    Queensland Reds 2024

I don’t see Meehan coming back to be anything other than primary or bench scrum half. Don’t think we would see him at a team where he would be 3rd choice. Just no money in it and he’s not quite at final stages of career yet.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

There is a few in here that don’t have the faintest idea how loaning works in other sports. The player would have to sign off on separate terms and conditions to head to another club. It’s essentially just another contract with your registration based at your primary club.

Can’t believe he even mentions the Rebels v Highlanders game. That game might of included some of the most bizarre refereeing decisions against the Rebels, including a try that was given because the ref refused to use the TMO, which later showed the player clearly dropped the ball. Uelese also...

    Aussie Player Exodus

McIntyre’s career ended up exactly as his ability dictated. Not good enough for the next level but good enough to forge a 10yr pro career as a bits and pieces player across a few teams. Good luck to the guy and I completely get the confidence to believe he could of been international quality as...

I think the Rebels are in desperate need of the opposite. We need a gainline maker. Carter in my eyes plays best pulling almost all the strings.

Strong chance his brother will play back up. But a journeyman cheap experienced option isn’t a bad shout. Will Harrison wouldn’t be bad either as a 2nd choice and allow a change of scenery.

I’m 99% sure Louwrens is signed for next season.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think a lot of his comments are just copy and paste for what his predecessors said. Castle and Pulver mentioned grassroots and reconnection in their opening speeches as well. So it’s just window dressing to appease certain parties from the start. As Brett McKay pointed out yesterday in a...

Good enough then old enough in my mind. Sport is littered with the best players been exposed at the youngest age. I personally think Jorgensen has been managed well this year. His current injury isn’t a wear and tear, it was an unlucky incident that could of happened in training.
