Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

I see where you're coming from Daz, tho I was at the game and enjoyed the crowd, which was around 65% capacity. Yes there was stages of flatness and static attack where it seemed like all Genia could think was give it to Digby. Barnes however varied our attack. We had a particularly good...

What is with the locations for domestic Rugby Championship games?

Was announced at the game as 34,888 at Etihad, so around 65%. More than enough that when Harris got his kick straight there was a mighty roar. Courteous crowd too, no booing and decent support for Wales. Loved it myself. Ath.

Will the Reds make the Final?

I hear Deans is the real reason the Tahs have played so badly. Apparently he pulled rank on Foley, saying a true coach plays what is in front of him, not what a fan forum says. It is also rumoured Deans was seen giving advice to Pat Lam earlier in the year and that Lam was writing notes...

Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

Sure. At the RWC we saw Horne put 100% in. Similarly he was right there on Saturday. I had no issues whatsoever with the amount of energy he put in, he was everywhere I expected him to be, and a few places I didn't, for example that turnover with Ant and Pat. The only criticism I have...

Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

Some guys grow a leg playing tests, others don't. Which is why Horne is in. He is a 100% player in tests. As is Ant, McCabe, and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). JOC (James O'Connor), Beale, Barnes, Cooper, Ioane, Mitchell, Genia, all these players give 100%. They are match hardened and have proven ability to mix it with the best...

    Rebels 2013

Spring chicken ;) I imagine Gerrardo has a few years in him yet. Very disappointed he didn't get into the Wallabies squad. Gerrardo is no flashy winger or scything fullback, but what a metronome he is. I think we will rue not having his accuracy, his read of the game in attack, and his...

I'd be very surprised if the players 'banked' so much credit it was the same team by then Bowside

Questions for podcast guest James Horwill

Thanks MrTimms. If you get a coach can it not be Robbie. I am a fan, but I expect his answer would sound like a chook choking on a MBA course glossary, a Harvard MBA course glossary naturally.

Wallabies development for the 2013 Lions Tour - are there areas you think the Wallabies really need to develop?

Not seen anything official but Melbourne in winter is not the place to be leaving the roof open, it will be closed.

Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

You make that sound like a doddle any competent coach could achieve rather than being king of the mountain RH, nicely done. No JOC (James O'Connor), Quade, Beale, or Horwill and we managed to beat the best Wales team since their days as a world power in rugby. Somebody has been doing something right in the...

Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

Vuna did pretty much what most of us expected really, did well in attack, struggled in defence. I personally think he is one of the few attacking weapons we have to rival digby other than JOC (James O'Connor) and a smoking drewster. He'll take some confidence from the game.

    Rugby Coaching

As some here probably know I like to keep a tab on stats, a habit from my business development/datamining type background. While others like RGS are far more able to comment, in the interest of getting the ball rolling; No it can't. Well not in the sense you mean, games like rugby challenge...

    New Zealand vs Ireland

I was surprised how the Irish lost their way. They got sucked into playing a fast game, something that would have been suicidal against Wales (or us), let alone NZ. Where was the spoiling play? It is not as if it wasn't working, we saw SBW get held up in exactly the same place and manner...

Wallabies vs Wales - Suncorp Stadium June 9

I think Deans wants a hard direct runner at 12 who can also provide good ball carrier support up the middle, so I doubt McCabe will be moved. I also think he still needs time focused at 12. Re Horne, I wondered if he was hoping to draw the tackler and offload, either way it was poor rugby for...
