    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

They are controversial because of the players that were included instead of them. Pat McCabe - Injured half the season and played off the bench when he was fit. Dropped by the Brumbies like Taps was dropped by the Reds. Barnes - Injured 90% of the season and couldnt hold a starting spot in...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Jesse Mogg Nic White (Ahead of Phipps last week and in the original 25 ahead of Dennis) Ben Tapuai Hugh Pyle (Again, original 25 ahead of Timani) Quade Cooper (Ahead of a fair few that were picked instead) James Hanson And then the selection of JOC (James O'Connor) as our best option at 10. Of course these...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

The two times the wallabies have beaten the All Blacks we have played a high intensity style of game that they could not keep up with. 2010 in particular, we threw the ball around and used our fantastic wingers and runners (a.k.a JOC (James O'Connor)) to beat their undeniable talent. Do we want to beat the All...

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

Ash Good coming up with the statistics for the match. Have you got the Lions? It was a shocking night in the rain and that seems to play a major role in making the modern jerseys slippery. If I recall correctly, the Lions had 32 missed tackles to the reds 22.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Why do we consistently assume that we cannot win with an entertaining style of rugby? Is there some universal law that says "If you play an exciting, attacking game plan, you will lose the match!"? Some of the best test matches ever played, including those won and lost by the wallabies, have...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

He was fairly resigned to missing out anyway so I think he would have been surprised/ content at getting the call up regardless of whether he ended up in the starting team. But then again, you never know what goes on behind closed doors, especially when it comes to Deans' man management...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Seems to me that the distinction between being in the squad and not is becoming a grey area. About the only difference is just getting all the gear but apart from that they are training with the same blokes and staying in the same hotel so they're pretty much part of the squad, aren't they? Ahhh...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

    But he has class!

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Can we stop using the "class is permanent, form is temporary" line. There are two situations here 1) a player who has shown numerous times in the past that he can perform consistently at an international level in a particular position, score tries, and has played all super rugby season. 2)...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

"Beale has a 73 per cent tackling success rate while winger Digby Ioane, one of half a dozen fringe players who also arrived at the Sunshine Coast camp yesterday, has an 81 per cent success rate." I don't think I have to say any more. He shouldn't have reacted the way he did, but I don't blame...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

And he was not surrounded by Wallabies. You can say what you want but they were supposed to be a team a tier above a Reds B and yet they were unable to capitalise one the 'unique' quade errors. Absolutely agree with the Beale comments. I just find it concerning that he has played very little...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

And yet the Lions did not score off of the errors that it seems only Quade can make in the world of Rugby. I.e. missed tackles, forward passes, charge downs, passes going to ground. edit: I see the Logic behind the selection but I do not see the merit. It is Deans saying that quade is the 6th...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I would prefer that than JOC (James O'Connor).... Incumbency has always been a big thing with Deans. So maybe a reality?

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

'Cred' like dropping the ball and missing numerous tackles in that first test against the All Blacks? Sorry mate but he is maybe slightly less error prone that Quade. They are both high risk high return players that have proven throughout their history to be effective together on a pitch. This...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-06-09/cooper-out-beale-in-for-lions-tests/4742720 Squad pretty much confirmed. Apart from the debate about Quade apparently being our 5th best flyhalf which will inadvertently reignite, I think omitting him and picking up mccabe tells us that we will be playing...

ok now I think you're just trolling me :(

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

And funnily enough Deans chooses the assistant coaches.... So yes, I would say the Head coach plays a major role in the ability to translate provincial form into international form. You're starting to sound like Deans. They're just too good hey? Well why do we even bother playing the...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I would usually agree but the stats speak a different story. Reds missed tackles = 22, Lions = 32. I Agree this is due to the game plan each team had but it still shows that tackles are missed in the best of teams.

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

Deans would never try anything that left field so its really not worth the discussion unfortunately... And yes I agree, play him at 10 all day because hes the best we have. The reds score 2 tries with a collapsing set piece in wet conditions. They made 7 line breaks by going wide and making...
