Brumbies vs Reds, Friday 1st of July, GIO Stadium Canberra

Stephen Moore in a discussion about moisturisors with Ready. They'll soon be team mates. The old lion keen to establish who will be the alpha male when he arrives. The young bloke is not so keen to appease him.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

Usually the Dual Coders can fly up on the Saturday straight after the Presentation luncheon at Riverview. The big challenge is if they get selected for Australia in both codes, as often national Mungo and Australian Rugby team commitments clash, and the player must select one or other not...

    Reds 2017

NRC should be helping develop potential Super HC's in the same way that it is helping bridge the gap between Club and Pro footy.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2016

^^^^No, it's a reference to the Curtain Raiser Cup fixture. Just don't like getting beaten by QLD, even if they are the better team, which this years U20s were by a long shot.

Brumbies vs Reds, Friday 1st of July, GIO Stadium Canberra

There was a lot at angst when Tuttle snr signed with the mungos, straight after school. I'm looking forward to see if there was any substance to that angst. There is a few other young'uns who's careers I have been monitoring for a while that are about to make their debut for the Banjolanders...

    Shute Shield 2016

The max PP limits per grade are all detailed in the notes following rule 7. The main change for 2016 from the legacy rules is that there is no provision for players who played lower grade being at 0 player points. Even if a bench player has played 80 minutes in 2nd grade, their PP count for...

    Galloping Greens

My example above was primarily of benefit to 1st Grade: a high PP player for 0 points under a loophole that is no longer available. The unintended consequence of that was the Paratrooper suddenly became 2nd Grade "qualified" if the ones were eliminated.

I sense a Red ambush. There is a lot of positivity about in Redland.

    Galloping Greens

Great explanation, E&E. Unless they did so to get around the (now excluded) provision that non-fresh reserves were worth 0 PP. Back in them days, you could potentially run a high point player on for 10 minutes (5 min each side of 1/2 time) in 2nd grade, and then they could come off the bench...

Rebels Vs Stormers, Saturday July 2nd @ AAMI Park

Alofa bread has also played Test footy for Samoa, so he would be a foreign marquee player for any Aus Super rugby franchise.

    Galloping Greens

That is a cunning little loophole. From what I believe if a player qualifies under "open selection" or adjacent teams rules for a lower grade for week 1 of the finals, then they are deemed qualified for that grade for the rest of finals, even if they lose the open selection status for weeks 2...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2016

The live streaming of games from Riverview in 2015 was arranged by Aust Schools RU last year, and advertised via their web site. IIRC coverage was a little "patchy" last year, or at least showing the games on the big screen at Riverview was a little "patchy", and I can only assume that the live...

^^ I thought that was the role of Chris Malone, on loan from the Waratahs for National Kicking Coach duties.
