    Round 19 - Waratahs v Brumbies

Someone mentioned somewhere that PD is the decider. So if the Tahs lose by <7 and the Lions don't get a bonus point then the Tahs stay 2nd and the Lions 3rd.

Round 18: Waratahs v Sunwolves, Saturday 7:15 AET, SFS

And, for what its worth I think the refs would have had no qualms about red-carding both Cane and ? (oldtimers) for the tackle fracturing the froggies skull in two places.

Super Rugby - Road to the Finals 2018

It's looking way brighter than two weeks ago!

Lots. He's our 2020 head coach!

    Waratahs 2019

There is, though we should have lost the Rebels game! I still don't think we have the grunt to beat the Crusaders/Hurricanes/Highlanders/Lions/Chiefs forward packs though. We are trying to win by avoiding the collisions but I don't think that worked in the Rebels game and I know it won't work...

    Waratahs 2019

It is interesting how things come at you from left field. Although I had seen him play there occasionally, I had never figured that Holloway might be that dynamic, physically dominant lock. But in the Rebels game I thought he was good (though Philip was way better) and last night he was...

Super Rugby - Road to the Finals 2018

For the Tahs, a win is essential. They really need to get second so they can maintain a home semi-final and only have potentially one game away. I think the Jags might get the win; it'll be desperation stakes for both teams and a real 50-50 bet. But the Sharks have shown that they lose the...

Round 18: Waratahs v Sunwolves, Saturday 7:15 AET, SFS

Red card came at 24-17 Tahs and at that stage they were in full control. Result was never in doubt IMO.

Round 18: Waratahs v Sunwolves, Saturday 7:15 AET, SFS

What's an outrage is that the Reds/Rebels game was so poor. Not a good advert for the game at all! The Tahs/Sunnies game had lots of good skill on show from both sides. The skill highlight was Yamada absolutely gassing Izzy on the outside. I've never seen Izzy so totally outclassed, ever.

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Final score 43-34. The Bulls were pretty good. They must have got an almighty serve from Mitchell this week (deserved) and responded well. All SA football will say thanks!

Round 18: Waratahs v Sunwolves, Saturday 7:15 AET, SFS

Loved Hanigan's half time comment "and I've got to start making some tackles."

Round 18: Waratahs v Sunwolves, Saturday 7:15 AET, SFS

Meets the written criteria for Red. Would have been just a penalty in NZ.

    Round 18 - Reds Vs Rebels - Jul 6, 7.45PM

Given the bad was beyond awful, I think this comment is hard to support. Maybe three good and two bad. But the two bad cost 14 points. Did the three good gain 14 points? No, I thought not. He's been touted as a long-term 10, but any NZ U-20 flyhalf has already had slow clearances trained out...

    Waratahs 2019

The Waratahs 2018 thread seems to have morphed into a 2019 thread so I'm starting this one. Now that we've missed out on Naisirani (again) what are we going to do about our powder-puff locks and backrowers. We seem to have no Palu-type backrowers coming through but lots of workhorses. Dempsey...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Taylor and Taufua getting mini-rests but the team is pretty strong. The Crusaders are not doing the Clan any favours. Doubt if Aussie Pete will get another run this year unless lots of injuries hit the team.

Round 18: Waratahs v Sunwolves, Saturday 7:15 AET, SFS

After getting beaten everywhere except on the scoreboard last week, will the real Waratahs turn up this week or will they continue to meander along to their now-guaranteed home final. A three try bonus point might just sweep them into second place, so there is a huge incentive dangling there...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

A win against the Bulls, who were abominable last week, takes the Jaguares (that name has such a lovely feeling to it, every time I pronounce it right it just feels good) to the top of the SA conference and into a nightmare situation for the Lions and for SARU. The Lions have only themselves to...
