RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Has he brought Jenkins back in because Barnes is reffing? It is amazing how much stronger the Welsh scrum is with Barnes on the whistle, even when tight heads rupture their Achilles' tendons they still aren't responsible for collapsing scrums. If Barnes is as accommodating as he usually is...

RWC QF 3 IRE v ARG (Millenium Stadium) 18th Oct 2300 AEDT

Well said, Kevin, good to see you posting on Green and Gold btw. Parisse can't have long left before he starts spending more time with his gorgeous wife, and when he does pack it in Italy are going to be dreadful.

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Nigel is the best in the business IMHO and, I am led to believe, that is the opinion of the overwhelming majority of players which is why he consistently refs very good, clean games of rugby. His handling of Tonga V Georgia in Kingsholm was terrific, a right old game for the purist it was and a...

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

Ah the Welsh obsession with Ireland rears it's head. Quite flattering really.

Exactly and a very common failing from Ireland and, indeed, the provinces. Every year Munster go into crunch games in Europe off the back of rubbish displays against weaker teams and suddenly perform, just as Ireland did from Italy to France.

Plenty up in the air selection wise. McGrath or Healy? Hendo in the row or at 6? Is Sexton really 100%? Zebo in for Daverage? Here is my team: 1 McGrath 2 Best(C) 3 Ross 4 Ryan 5 Toner 6 Hendo 7 Henry 8 Heaslip 9 Murray 10 Sexton 11 Zebo 12 Henshaw 13 Earls 14 Bowe 15 Kearney 16 Strauss 17...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

That would be my preferred solution. I would also like to see more citings and players being cleared because right now it looks like an expensive and windy exercise in self incrimination followed by a bloody good dinner, old chap!?! I think the Scottish lads deserved a ban but the process will...

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

Not even close to being as bad as another double team spearing that went uncited years ago.
  9. the plastic paddy

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

When was the last time a citing was thrown out? A player is cited or not, if he is cited he pleads guilty, says sorry and takes his ban. It takes four or five hours so the legal teams can charge by the hour and then have a bloody good dinner. It is disgraceful and the Scots should challenge it...

RWC QF 3 IRE v ARG (Millenium Stadium) 18th Oct 2300 AEDT

And there is the nonsense. Even if they appeal, and win, they will not be able to prepare properly. It is only scabby Scotland so I won't be getting too over excited but it is wrong for an Aussie to be making such a decision over Scottish players when Australia play Scotland the following week.

RWC QF 3 IRE v ARG (Millenium Stadium) 18th Oct 2300 AEDT

Kneeing a fella in the back and cracking the bones off three of his vertebrae?
  12. the plastic paddy

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

Can't agree, the Scottish lads dealt with the fella independently and should not have been judged together. I don't want Scotland to win anything but that is a poor decision from the Independent Australian Citing commissioner to refer the incident.

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

A no brainer. Sure to appeal. Players being cited or not on the opinion of one man has to end, it should be done by a panel of 5/7/9 who cover every round of games.

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

Has anyone seen video footage of the Scottish incidents? I didn't see it live.

Does it bollix. Seanie was wrong to be wound up by the prick but, as you well know Pape is a prick, who fell over like a sack of spuds clutching the other side of his stomach to where Seanie slapped him.

Wales have got their patsy Barnes.
  17. the plastic paddy

RWC QF 3 IRE v ARG (Millenium Stadium) 18th Oct 2300 AEDT

Host nations have been knocked out of their own rugby world cups in less time!?!? I think they are haggling because anything more than a week will be appealed because there is no disincentive. Pocock's none citing, correct I add, will be used, as will the nationality of the judicial officer. I...

RWC QF 2 NZ v FRA (Millenium Stadium) 18th Oct 0600 AEDT

Don't rule out Barnes suddenly allowing players to lie all over the breakdown at some point.

RWC QF 2 NZ v FRA (Millenium Stadium) 18th Oct 0600 AEDT

Funnily enough both him and Barnes, who I think is odds on to get the final btw, have been much better at making tacklers roll than is usually the case.
  20. the plastic paddy

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

I agree entirely, I am not suggesting the citing commissioner will be anything other than independent and objective, but come this stage of a RWC I think they could find a cleverer way of doing things.
