Apparently Shute Shield has been picked up by 7Sport - playing the match of the round each week. Not sure about what time it will be played, etc. You'd think that a digital channel is unlikely to get the kind of numbers that ABC used to get (particularly in regional areas), but still better...

I've got a bunch of mates that I rustle up to get memberships. Bizarrely, and nobody make me repeat this, but I pretty much support the Tahs now. It's been a long time since I've been to a Crusaders home game, and the Tahs have been playing great rugby over the last couple of years.

Just bought 10 memberships for the Tahs this morning, after emerging from my cricket-dominated hibernation (though I reserve the right to briefly re-hibernate depending on how the black caps do). Get excited - rugby is back.

The report isn't freely accessible, but I'd be interested to see the raw numbers. I imagine rugby is growing off a tiny base in the 6-12 year old age range, but that's really where long-term success is built so any progress is encouraging.

A mate of mine manages the KB (Kurtley Beale), it's phenomenal now. Was always a solid pub, but gee it has a great range of taps these days. The same mob did it up that did up the Dove & Olive.
