    Brumbies 2020

I don't like having a captain that you know you're going to sub off with half an hour to go. McCaffrey would be my choice, but I also don't like having a captain who isn't first name on the team sheet. I can see a world where our backrow next season is Valetini-Samu-McCaffrey, and I'd like...

Cheika seems to hold his views for a long time, I won't be surprised if he still believes a Foley-Kerevi 10-12 combo can't work after the England series in 2016. If it were up to me, there would be no world in which our centres weren't Kerevi and Kuridrani.

I don't know what Cheika wants to do with this squad and so I don't know what the hell he wants from his team. Selections for the test against RSA won't even necessarily tell us what he wants. That said, I'm willing to bet the backline will be Genia-Foley-Koroibete-Beale-Kuridrani-Hodge-DHP.

General kicking =/= goal kicking. We don't really seem to have an issue with coaching goal kicking: look at how much better Foley was after he spent a while practicing in 2013.

This is an area in which I feel we are really terrible at making use of the Australian market. If only there was a sport in Australia which required high-quality kicking on a regular basis where we might find some kind of kicking coaches? It feels like we only started hiring League tackle...

Literally just put there to make up the numbers, like with Foketi at the Tahs.

Great Super-level player, with the potential to be an average-to-good test player in a few years. He's (rightly) known for his speed, but his best atributes are his defending at the end of the line, his awareness when it comes to dropping back to cover a kick, and his own kicking ability. He...

Haven't been watching as much since De Wet Roos stopped starting, haha. But he's started for most of the season, and was particularly good against Manly and Randwick early in the season. He has the technical and physical skills, he just needs to experience of regular play. I wish we had found an...

    Brumbies 2020

It's hard to build comradery if you aren't actually playing with the team, but I'm sure he's been involved in training with the group and the ARU centralised training for Super players, so the coaches will have a good idea of his ability. He's still the most likely guy to start for us at 10 next...

I mean, if form is any measure, there wouldn't be a single Rebel in the Wallabies bar Naisarani and Jones. But people have said the same about Kuridrani in 2016, and look how wrong they were. There are players who lift for the jersey, and who rise to the level of the players around them. Hodge...

Really hope it's DHP at fullback. Much as I have faith in Banks, I want to see that Ben Smith/Joe Roff/Ruan Combrinck style fullback. Banks reminds me more of Liam Williams or Israel Dagg; lord knows that's no insult, but it's not what I want to see from the Wallabies backline.

Pace is not the main requirement of a winger. Finishing ability and defending at the end of the line are the two most important.

I do not believe this game is indicative of the general ability of the players or the team. The difference between the Wallabies team which should have lost to Scotland in the 2015 QF and the team which destroyed Argentina a week later is Folau and Pocock. Who knows how much impact the lack of...

I don't know what to put such a shift in form down to other than the home crowd. In that sense, the Brumbies lost this game back in round four when they let the Rebels come back from being 19-3 down to win 29-26; win that game, and the Brumbies were hosts. I'm proud of the boys for getting to...

Source: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/sport/392885/super-rugby-quarter-finals-breakdown I want to reiterate that the Brumbies won half their games against teams in other conferences, and saying that they played the Sunwolves twice doesn't change the fact that the Cheifs lost to the Sunwolves...

We shouldn't pick any Brumbies for the test against Argentina, just so we can compare Brumbies v Argentina with Rest-of-Australia v Argentina.
