    Wallabies 2020

"If two of the best locks of the professional era could do it, why not some youngsters just beginning to show promise?" is one hell of a take, haha. Agreed that if they're good enough, and mentally and physically developed enough, they are old enough. Disagree that we've seen enough from them...

    Wallabies 2020

If we're going to bring youngsters into the Wallabies squad at Lock, then we'd be stupid to not have Simmons there to mentor and support them. I know we're big believers in "if they're good enough, they're old enough", but I'd really like to see us be patient with the guys we have coming...

    Wallabies 2020

Brumbies use the two-person model. Dan Palmer manages the set pieces, Laurie Fisher manages the forwards generally. Rory Murphy is still an understudy to both as far as we know. Back in 2012, it was widely reported that Mowen and Kimlin ran the lineout without much input from the coaches, and...

    Wallabies 2020

On history and on form, there's no doubt our locks should be LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Rodda. Philip and Neville have the ability, but they're not going to get there without some standout performances (and, in Neville's case, he isn't even starting yet).

    Super Rugby Rnd 3 2020 Brumbies v Highlanders @ Canberra - Saturday February 15th 7:15pm AEDT

Ikitau is a 13 through-and-through. Those of you who are keen to see Kuridrani at 12, it could happen if Ikitau comes off the bench.

    Wallabies 2020

Happens to us all mate, haha. Definitely would be starting Slipper and AAA as it stands, simply because of their form from last year and how they haven't dropped off at the start of this season. Sio is still good enough to be the reserve LHP, but JP could push him if their respective forms...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think the variety of playstyles at the Super Rugby level is one of the things which made it a success in the first place. I can't try and talk Sully out of not liking how the Brumbies play, but I think it's a good thing that there are teams out there that play in a style which different groups...

    Brumbies 2020

The earlier kick offs have really hurt as well. People are working until 5:30, then having to consider "do I go home and get changed, or do I go straight there?", and half the people who go home to get changed just stay home. The ones who still head out to the stadium are arriving about 10...

    Super Rugby Rnd 3 2020 Brumbies v Highlanders @ Canberra - Saturday February 15th 7:15pm AEDT

Brumbies with the chance to set get closer to a new record for wins in a row at home, and could snap a four game losing streak against the Highlanders to make it a 4-4 split in the Super Rugby era.

    Brumbies 2020

I'm hoping the game on Saturday will have a bit more buzz around it. I feel like Saturday games always get better crowds than Friday games, and we haven't beaten the Highlanders since our three win streak from 2012 to 2015.

    2020 crowds and ratings

I'd be interested to see the breakdown of Brumbies crowds on Fridays vs on Saturdays. I can say anecdotally that Fridays always get smaller crowds in Canberra, but stats trump anecdotes.

    Brumbies 2020

I wish Lomax the best of luck. Always a polite and professional guy whenever I had any interactions with him, and I hope he has a great career. Has all the promise in the world.

    Wallabies 2020

Nah, Slipper is the best LHP in the country (I know, I know, Sio is starting, explain that Brumbies fan, etc. etc.), both in terms of scrummaging and around the field work. He'll be the Wallabies LHP so long as he isn't injured (unless Sio makes a sudden recovery). JP was great against the...

    Brumbies 2020

Not necessarily agreeing with it, but what I've been hearing is that some young players were approached by the Rebels but turned down the offer because the Rebels had a reputation for offering starting roles as part of the negotiating strategy and then failing to deliver. Apparently Lomax was...

    Brumbies 2020

As I understand, they already did. As did the Rebels. Apparently the lessons of Tyrel Lomax have scared a few Brumbies young guns away from joining the Rebels on the promise of a jersey.

    Brumbies 2020

All the noises around Len Ikitau are that he would be the starting 13 if we didn't have Kuridrani, and that he's viewed as the option from whenever Kuridrani leaves until 2030.
  17. RoffsChoice

    Brumbies 2020

Eh, I've made my Kuridrani case before, but, in short, I'll take a 13 who can do all the core jobs (defending the 13 channel better than any other 13 in the world, for example) over the League recruit. Where a guy lines up on attack means SFA to me if they aren't the 9 or the 10.

    Brumbies 2020

It ain't happening. He'll either stay on the wing or move to 12.

Fantasy Rugby Draft - Super Rugby 2020

Whoever Flower Collies is, we’re in a close-run thing! Whoever loses really has to feel pretty ripped off, haha.

    Super Rugby Rd2 2020: Brumbies v Rebels

I don’t think we’ve been tested by a good team yet. If the Highlanders play next week like they did last night, it won’t test us either. Not willing to make a call on whether we are good or not yet.
