All Blacks v Wallabies, Dunedin, 19th October 2013

His game certainly wasn't suited to that run against Samoa. I'm not suggesting he should be pulling on a yellow jersey anytime soon for exactly the same reasons, but despite his apparent abjectness he scores a lot of tries by getting to the right place at the right time in super rugby. Thats...

No surprises there. Congrats to Betham - the right choice. I look forward to seeing Robinson on the field for a significant part of the game. And Harris - less so.

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

Good to see Spiro penning the inspiring and uplifting articles that have become his stock in trade. The problem with Cooper is that he still isn't playing as well as he should, and as well as he and the wallabies need. And there are alternatives. But this is crap. Surely it is good if any of...

    Ewen McKenzie: Wallaby Coach

If Link can pick a core of young players and keep putting them on the paddock with a structure they can grow into, eventually they will graft wins against top tier opponents and build into a champion team. As it stands it is a pretty young side. The experienced players you would expect to get...

Careful. If you're not with us, you're against us. And sometimes when you are with us, you're against us.

If the wallabies can keep the margin to 10 or less I will count that as a step forward. In fact, not leaking points for two consecutive games will be a step forward. Don't get me wrong, the bonus point ;) victory over the Pumas was great. Cooper looked to be limping quite a bit when he went...

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

I'm looking forward to seeing Mowen in action as captain. He is organised and makes a real effort to get his troops on board, beyond the interaction with the gnomes carrying the whistle, which he does well. The last two years has seem Genia (in super and test rugby) doing more and more -...

WIN: 100 Schooners of Vale Ale for your team/club

Only 100 schooners? What are the other guys drinking?

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

You may be right. I have little clue about scrums. But for the most part it's not the props hitting the ground, standing up or even being cleaved from Moore. They are being shunted backwards and need more from the rest of the pack.

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

I've held off on posting because the point is NOT Cooper. It's just a recurrent theme that the usual suspects like to jump on. And I don't care, for the most part, To'omua played well enough and has enough strengths that picking him pleases me. But I thought Cooper was actually solid-ish, first...

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

Kane Douglas was in pretty good form last year, but he has hardly been the messiah in any appearance this year. Not sure why he isn't at tight head lock though..

There were tries a-plenty. I'm sure someone found it entertaining!

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

As often as not, the problem around the tackle/breakdown on Saturday night wasn't the size of the wallaby pack but their absence. Or if they did make it they were late and inaccurate. I can think of a couple of occasions only that an australian forward arrived in a timely fashion with venom and...

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

Boks get on that roll and unless you can get in the contest physically, you're gone. We didn't. Should be massive against the ABs.

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

Fair enough, but seriously - Cooper is the most talented and experienced of our 10s and he has an opportunity to stand up and be a leader in this team, or to slip away, potential never realised. Time for him to stand up on the field.

I thought that was all three of the force fans.

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

I don't think it was that controversial, or scathing. Though I would say the player I expected more from is Cooper. I don't know what he ran out there to do, but I expected when we were 11 ppoints behind and nearing the end that he would have the backline running the ball when the opportunity...

Come on Sully, he has had three weeks with the team! Shouldn't we have at least one and preferably two victories over the all blacks by now!

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Ideally Cooper would come out with the wallabies two tries down and 10 to go and feel free to run it from in the 22 - you would think that it would be quite disinhibiting. But he is struggling to find that confidence against the All Blacks, esp. Be interesting to see how he goes against the...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

I don't expect or (of course) mind if we don't win, but I'd be happy with more composure and precision this week, along with buckets of effort.
