    Waratahs 2016

Beat me to it Don't know if a link works in this case but here is the info: Manly duo, Wycliff Palu and Matt Lucas bolster NSW Waratahs squad confirmed for 2016 • 38-man squad confirmed for 2016, one additional fly-half to be announced • Five NSW players elevated to core playing squad...

    Waratahs 2016

For what it is worth the Waratahs are saying: The 2016 extended playing squad will be announced this week, which includes two key player signings. .

    Reds 2016

He's being playing OK in games I have seen this season but he doesn't have the impact in contact that one would hope for from a bloke of his size; still skilful though. .

    Western Force - 2016

Hey guys, We are looking for a few folks to write a few previews and match reports on Force games this year. If you think you can do three previews and match reports during the year or even a couple of each, please respond in this thread or send me a convo. PS - if you care to write on...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

This year it will be different; there will be overseas teams in the FORU tournament at Bond but they will be in different divisions. Only NZ and Aus will be in Div I - and will play each other twice (on May 3rd and 7th, I think). I don't know who will be in the Div II group. .

    Aussie Player Exodus

I wouldn't pick Jones at 8 for the Wallabies until I see him play there in Super Rugby picking up bad ball from a scrum - and then break the first tackle a bit. McCalman wasn't much in these areas when he started in Super Rugby but he is good at it now; so Jones could learn the role over...

NSW Under 20s I should have asked this question of the coaches, but does anybody know of any players who have withdrawn from the 64 nominated in November - and why? See post # 152 for the names. I'm trying to work out who has been missing from the list since then and why. I'll write...

    Waratahs 2016

Like other Waratahs Zac Guilford has been calling members to renew their membership and I hear that folks like to chat with him. .

^^^^^^^^^ But of those only Mumm is a rival of Jones for a 6/lock role - and let's not forget the effect of one injury to others, let alone two. Ironically it may be in Jones' long-term interest to stay and go later. Being a regular in a Wallabies 23 for a year or two could make Euro clubs...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Victoria used a few schoolboys in the Adelaide tournament last season also - and maybe some of the other teams did as well. .

Agree kiap, I always thought that Jones was the logical replacement for Fardy at the Wallabies if that is the type of 6 that the Wallabies will be looking at. The return of Dean Mumm did him no favours but you had to pick Mumm in a RWC year. A few youngish players have gone offshore...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

I meant that as a schoolboy Jooste wouldn't have been considered for Aussie U20s; so it would have served no purpose to choose him in the Baas team for the Canberra tournament: it would have wasted a spot. If I recall correctly somebody wrote in the forum that the WA U20 team used a few...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

He was at school this year and played in the ASRU Championships for WA; so he couldn't be considered for U20s. Not to the point, but he is a player similar to Jack Debreczini at the Rebels; going to the Brumbies will give him exposure to Larkham and I bet that is one reason why he decided to...

There is a blog on the Tahs U20 hit-out yesterday here: http://goo.gl/oJYNMy Give it a click. PS if you have any queries or comments on the blog please make them in the Discussion area of the blog and not here. .

Definitely not two NSW U20 teams "this year" in U20s according to Rapp - read into that what you like. It was a good hit out today - will write a blog about it tonight or more likely tomorrow. Chris Malone didn't know what to expect because he hadn't seen some of them play before but was...

HJ Yeah Lukhan was the surprise of 2015 as I foretold might be the case this time last year, but just when I get to spell his name without looking it up he moves up north. Lukhan has the sniff of a journeyman about him - in the sense that I think he will journey a bit in the sport. He left...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

Pye has looked good in training and impressed me when he played for NSW Country in an U20 trial last year at Moore Park. Like Ned Yeomans and others he has moved to Sydney to further his career - and was selected as starting scrum half for the NSW Under 19s earlier in the year out of the Easts...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

^^^^ I didn't look at the second one because it involved Rd 6 which is when the final is scheduled. But your 1st one looks spot on. However it assumes that the Super U20 comp starts in Rd 1 of Super Rugby and not in Rd 2 which was postulated earlier. Is there any link to info that the U20 may start...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

Well done Highlander; so with your scheme (the one starting in Rd 1 of Super Rugby and finishing in Rd 5, with the final in Rd 6) there is only one game that is not a curtain-raiser. There may have to be a toss of the coin to see who misses out on that curtain-raiser game. .
