    RWC 2023 Qualifying & Miscellany

From all reports it was a heck of a game. Can't wait to get home to watch it.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, we have the Tahs/Rebels next week. With the Tahs win today hopefully that'll draw in more viewers. If they win that then round 6 could be a good result.

Ah, ok. Was looking at the general ratings. You wouldn't have a link to them for future reference? That makes the Brumbies/Tahs game the more disappointing then as last year that saw 84k tune in on Gem.

Didn't crack the Top 20 for the first round either.

The only one's I've seen have been rd 1 which was actually up 14% on last season and last night's. Which there's no baseline for but is fairly pleasing. The Rebels/Force game wouldn't have rated well. No idea about the Brumbies/Tahs.

From memory is usually doesn't. But they still reported them last season. Didn't crack the top 20 last night either from the looks of it. https://twitter.com/MediaweekAUS?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

That's a solid return on that game. Probably somewhere between 120-140k after regionals are added. Would like to find out the ratings for the previous fortnight.

Round 4: Rebels vs Brumbies 11 March 7.45pm AAMI Park

Looked to have drifted slightly forward however it came out of the hand in a backward direction meaning it was fine.

    Western Force 2022

What is the purpose of quoting Reg and then not adding anything?

    Super Rugby 2022

Something that despite our results that I'm always pleased to see in Australian Rugby is a willingness to innovate and introduce new ideas to the game. Some of the most recent have been the 50/22 -22/50 and goal line dropouts. Which brought a lot of hand wringing on announcement of their...

    Waratahs 2022

There's no way Melbourne, Perth or Canberra can run two squads. What's achievable is as you mention the 5 Aus Super Rugby teams plus the Drua. An easier way of filling it out would be to give both the Sydney and Brisbane clubs the opportunity to enter a rep squad of non-contracted players.

Yep. And considering the weather I was actually pretty impressed with the Tahs/Reds crowd as well.

It would. If I could find them.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think it has been exacerbated by their being a heavy reliance on both NSW and Qld for talent. If you look at the likes of Ireland only Connaught doesn't produce the majority of their squad locally. Relying on bringing in either Irish qualified foreign players or project players to bolster...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Hopefully we'll see it return. Even if it's essentially Super Rugby Au plus the Drua and minus our Wallabies. Would be better than nothing.

    Australian Rugby / RA

The way I see it is that we currently have an issue of a lack of professional games for our professional players. Particularly our younger guys.

The goal should be to have the A squad to play T2 national squads from my perspective. So when the Wallabies are playing say France in FRance the A squad could play Spain in Madrid. And so on.

Covid among other things has really thrown a spanner in the works.

Super Rugby Rd 3: Brumbies v Waratahs in Canberra

It was fine. He's wearing a Brumbies jersey after all. I may be a bit salty.
