    Indeed. The thing for us is to keep the on-field team competitive. Lose that, or lose interest, and it ends. But, we're .. just about ... keeping it together so far.

Previously the Lions have done an HSBC event in HK on the way in (Baabaas?) ... maybe the Qataris put that plan on steroids? Invite France/Boks or some...

    If by keeping his record alive you mean Garland not needing to apply, well, okay. Suggestion is it was a 5-year deal too? His record of success with Wales might not stay alive though. Their golden generation is pretty much on the way out.

    Harsh, Reg. :) It has its own charms and some decent vistas, to be sure. The 'global icon' blurb is just there to 'zhoosh up' the announcement brought to you by HSBC... We're only talking about rugby sevens venues here. Plenty of places on that guesstimate list have genuine shit-hole areas...
