After watching the nationals last year and the quality of the SJRU and NSW Schools teams, sadly I would have to agree with you.

So at U17's NSW Country are not playing the top 23 City players but players who in all probability are not in the the top 50 or 60 but I guess a win is a win and it looks impressive to those that don't know.

It doesn't matter that he was selected because someone else was injured. He now has an opportunity to show his ability and hopefully he will take it. Unfortunately, it can take just one selector or coach to block a pathway.

Maybe, unlike the NSW Country selectors (not Country Schools), the NSW Schools team selectors do not believe they make the grade. There are nine Illawarra players in the U17's NSW Country Team and yet in the past six years Illawarra have never made the finals of the NSW Country Championships...

HJ, don't forget that those 10 teams in the U17's consisted of 30 players a team so you had 300 players representing NSW in the JGC. At the State Champs you had 7 teams of 23 players for a total of 161. Why would it attract players into the Village Club system? How many 'League only' players...

I must say that over the years my wife has always admired how your boys threw the ball across the back line, although many times without fruition. Congratulations on the 'Double' ;)
