SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Orr's been released, he's a good bloke but 4 doesn't go into 3. Should hopefully show enough to get another go somewhere, even if it's as number 3 again.

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

I think Jed is a necessity within the players selected for this squad for both Skelton and a conventional 7 to play in the same starting lineup, Tom Hooper aside. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Hanigan, Swinton strike me as the alternatives outside of the squad, but all have good arguments against.

    Wallabies 2023

I sincerely doubt Slipper, Hooper, White, Cooper, Foley, Hodge or Philip will be seriously considered beyond the World Cup. Arnold is likely World Cup and done too. I have more faith in Marika and Kerevi, but outside backs in their 30s playing in Japan will always be tenuous if form slips...

    Wallabies 2023

I don't agree with the dropping, but Scott Robinson had access to 24-26 year old Pete Samu, not 31 year old Pete Samu.

    Lions Tour 2025

There's a whole bunch, but of the blokes not formally part of current and previous Wallaby Squads Josh Canham is my pick. He's 22, genuine tighthead lock size, has a nice ball game but needs to work on discipline and concentration, travelled as a non-playing reserve to Tonga with Aus A. Of the...

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Well that didn't take long to fix!

    Lions Tour 2025

BILs tours details are as much (if not more) for travelling fans as it is for domestic stuff: many young dumb and full of cum professionals and greybeards will already be looking to lodge their leave for that period to ensure access, particularly as they'd be competing with the young family...

    Wallabies 2023

It's a good group. Uelese, Vunivalu and Donaldson aside it's hard to argue that anyone who's there doesn't deserve it, and a number who didn't perform to the required standard or were only being experimented with are gone.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The VIC boys contracts (Kailea, Talataina & Palu) didn't touch on length I think when last announced: they may or may not be signed already, we just haven't seen confirmation of that or lack thereof.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

If Louwrens is confirmed as the email indicated that would leave us with only: Isaac Aedo Kailea Zac Hough Leafi Talataina Stacey Ili Divad Palu unconfirmed for 2024

    Wallabies 2023

It doesn't clash with the NPC and that's all NZ will care about.

    Lions Tour 2025

BILs tours aren't about giving back to your base, they're about exploiting the living fuck out of them as a consequence of charging through the roof for the wealthy young single blokes and greybeards that come a-touring.

    Lions Tour 2025

disappointing. But it's about money and lord knows the game needs it atm.

    Wallabies 2023

All the performance has done is indicate that one of Petaia and Kellaway (or someone like Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) if both are preferred in the XV) are fine in the 23 jersey and the need to carry someone who has spent more extensive time at 12 (probably Foketi or Hodge) is alleviated.

    Wallabies 2023

Now that would be something worth getting worked up about

    Wallabies 2023

At the end of the day you have a pool you should go 4 & 0 in and a quarter final that can't be against NZ, France, South Africa or Ireland. Who knows what happens once you hit the semis.

    Rugby 7s general chat

Maybe being a UK-er plays its part, but I've found myself unable to get excited about Sevens generally post COVID. The product has begun to feel very... corporate? for lack of a better term, with the push to align with olympic tournament sizing, and the host location shifting over the past 8...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I took this way off topic and that's my b. The situation I would like to change is that for example, a player like Mosese Tuipulotu could represent Samoa or Australia at the JWC, and not be tied to either one of them: he could go play for Samoa, the Wallabies, or Scotland by current rules...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Yes, so I think the important part would be about "gaining" new eligibility. If they've been somewhere for the 5 consecutive (or 10 total) years required, I wouldn't want that to be lost by turning out for an alternative, the goal would be preventing talent that has been sufficiently "identified...

    Wallabies 2023

I think the starting XV for RWC time is more or less settled in EJ (Eddie Jones)'s head. I don't necessarily think it should be, but I anticipate a team (presuming fitness) of roughly the following Kellaway, Nawaqanitawase, Ikitau, Kerevi, Koroibete, Cooper, White, Slipper, Porecki, AAA, Arnold, Skelton...
