    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Gents, I will leave them nameless but there are only 2 boys in this week's New 1st XV that have started in year 7 for Newington and only 1 not on scholarship (JM). Is it a shame? or is it just a coincidence? It's good to see that these two players of which my nephew knows personally, have come...

re-read my second paragraph and don't gloss over it! OF COURSE THEY DID but they also had a combined back line that only got them a solid undefeated season by ONLY 3 points against shore. Would've, could've should've i suppose........ and GPStyle, you do have excellence when it comes to...

From what I heard and saw, both Simon and Sepesa played evenly as well in their respective wing and fullback positions. Josh Mitchell on the other hand was dominating his wing very well, picking holes, isolating offenders and smashing through the 2nds defence.

Firstly, fix up your font to black to older men like me can read it. Secondly, they may be red-hot at the moment, but they will be truly tested once they hit the ovals of bellevue, hunters hill, Parramatta or Stanmore for that reason. Last year everybody was picking kings to win and look where...

this is why I think Newington opens should let the boys that have similar ability in the lower teams e.g. 4ths to play to the 3rds than getting numerous u16s boys to play and diminish their own team in the 16s competition. But I guess view did that last year with there 16A's and its proved well...

Gents, for Newington, all internal games were played today within the Newington College grounds. It was really great to see today the youngins to the opens playing their hearts out for a spot in the A's or the team they want to make. I would like to say that ill be surprised if Newington's 13A's...

ahh yes yes thank you wreckless, I have been consulted by Lee Grant and agreed. IF only I would get paid for doing this work! but luckily I would do it for the boys and the men of the GPS. And yes on the curtain raiser. It was believed that Kings did pull out of the curtain raiser which was to...

two of the lads that were in the open relay for Newington last year that beat kings were in the 1st and 2nd XV respectively. Remember Matt Hood the speedstar and Josh Mitchell the Bear? restate what you said, im sure other schools had fine athletes in the relays that they would rely on as the...

this is exactly right GPS rower. Newington will unfortunately have to rely on such players as kennewell, piroddi and sapesa from the u16s this year to support the lack of talent and depth in the u17s group playing in the Opens for New.

This should explain it well enough. With having been at Newington College from 99'-07', I have watched my fair share of thrashings week in and week out. Seeing joeys, Kings, Riverview flog our 1sts every year with the only good thing coming out of the game would be if Newington would've scored...
