Some interesting results over the weekend. I'll be honest and say I didn't see one of the results coming! When was the last time Albury lost at home? I'm thinking a few years possibly? Reddies are certainly going to be a team to watch this year! Very pleasing to see Connolly hold up and...

@Yourmatesam, nice Segway! I think you'll see a improvement in the City set piece this week. Some very solid sessions put in by the boys in ordinary conditions this week. A few minor changes to the Boiled lolly backline this week and we will see how that goes! City by 7!

I'm disappointed that this step is necessary. We played more tests than any other country last year. More than we should be yet we are still in a right mess. Why ? How did we come to this ?

http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/story/2094011/just-live-with-aru-charges/?cs=149 I'm not sure if we should be shouldering the burden for the ARU's lack of foresight but if its what has to be done it has to be done. I had a few ideas: 1. Perhaps the ARU could look at other revenue options ...

I'll believe it when I see it. Last week I had heard the Whiteleys were going to play League! This week at Tahs, next week ???? I'd also been told Dave Armstrong was heading north for one last crack at Sydney. All rumours , all amusing none believable until sighted ;) Seeing we are in close...

I offered him a gig with City but he had other commitments sadly!

Certainly will be interesting times ahead for Aggies! Good on Jack for sticking his hand up. The Captain/Coach thing is pretty hard to master, you don't quite get the same perspective as what you do from the sideline at times. Thumbs up to the Steamers and Albury in general for the trial game...

No word yet from aggies? Must say that playing on a day like this would be stretching the relationship! Should be a good day down at Albury - the Steamers do know how to run a show!

Good to see the effort getting a few kudos! Bloody hard to turn a club around when its in the doldrums but it can be done. I do hope the Yabbies have a better year (except against City !) and getting things done off the field does help on field. Still no official word from Aggies on the coach...

City had its rego day yesterday at the The Riv. Good turn out , plenty of old faces and a pleasing amount of new ones. Plenty of stories swirling round and one particular yarn did make me laugh a little. I reckon my mate Les Muir might have to write a new story soon! And the beers were...

Always seems a problem when teams have huge success . Guys retire knowing they've won a premiership - and its a reasonable thing to happen! It was an aging (albeit bloody good ) side and it was likely to happen anyway I think. But Albury had a good core of younger players running around and I...

Hamish has started the process to stay here on a longer basis. More on that later! And yep Zac is staying with City as well. You'll see him in charge of the City Girls in season 2014 as a matter of interest. We've got a bit going on here!

Who says Hamish has departed? ;) Funny , I don't recall saying most of what Les has written there!

Everyone still on Holidays ? Good to see Young sorting the off field out. Its important for the Yabbies to be stronger and stay within the SIRU ranks. Its also one of the more epic bus trips ! Any news on the Coota Tricolours? Are they any closer to a coach? And any inside goss from the Aggies...

Nice idea but sadly I cant see it working successfully. I'm a big fan of too much rugby is not enough but the mass of players possibly don't look for that level of extended commitment. On another note! Just read the DA's article on Albury securing a coach. No names as of yet but does anyone...

I find a good rant is liberating for the soul ! On a serious note , that situation is no different from what many clubs experience. Problems arise when essentially well meaning people make short sighted and poor decisions - and it takes years to recover! Trust us we know! The issue is getting...

Always good to start a rugby yarn! Only 4 and a bit months to go and shes on again! Reports of City's demise are greatly exaggerated I believe. Whilst Jason and Eddie Lagaali have left and we may loose one or two others ( I think that's called natural attrition) the figure of a dozen is somewhat...

That's all done and dusted! Congratulations to Albury on a comprehensive display on Saturday. Tahs tried but were never truly in that game at any stage. Kudos all the same on getting there! Can Albury defend it? I'd say they'll lose quite a few players out of that squad but a solid core will...

Sunny day, little cloud around and the ground has firmed up nicely. I think we could see some running rugby played Saturday! Go the City 2nds!

I have to say that the Reddies v Tahs game on Saturday was an absolute cracker. Obviously I was disappointed my team wasn't there, but I have to hand it to the 2 teams for a first class game of running rugby at Connolly. Can Waratahs take that sort of rugby into the GF? They are playing some...
