I don’t know about this. There’s a commercial advantage for sponsors/broadcaster about a competition that is viewed in 4 countries as opposed to just Australia. didn’t the players/clubs all take pay cuts recently (that never got reinstated) because we went from a precovid competition of 14...

but they currently have super rugby and ITM cup. I can’t see pay rises incoming for NZ players if there’s less content. You’d be making one or the other competition essentially redundant because how do you distinguish between the 2? Australia in a position where we wouldn’t be having less...

Professional rugby is in huge trouble in NZ if you disband super rugby. The kiwis need Australia more than Australia needs kiwis. Super rugby NZ would simply become the ITM cup with rep players and everyone would be taking a pay cut.

Canberra is a lost cause… it’s a bad sports market. A new stadium won’t fix the fact that are a regional sports town who will play second fiddle to the Canberra raiders!

Kevin Foote is an upgrade over all the recent coaches the Waratahs have had and most likely upgrade over the coaches the Waratahs will consider. If not Kevin Foote how about giving Tim Sampson or Nick Stiles a go? 2 candidates with super rugby coaching experience under their belt

did you catch the news this week where the NRL got caught out fudging the attendance stats for their Vegas event. said there was 40k but it was only 30k

No other rugby nation has to fight with its country love for a 2bit code like the NRL. take away the fact our population prefers 5 tackles and a kick…. Imagine where the game would be if there was one rugby code fighting against AFL.
