Ones I can confirm there have been at least discussions (some potentially done deals): Isaiya Katoa: Dolphins Oniti Finau: Waratahs Bryn Edwards: Waratahs Lachlan Hooper: Waratahs/Brumbies Doug Phillipson: Force Also have heard a few more that I can't confirm.

    CAS Rugby 2023

I believe 2018 had 14 CAS selections (everyone except no. 7. Weymouth) and 2022 had 13 (if we include Isaiya) being, Saihyoun, Edwards, Finau, Van Wyk, Ekenyake, Livingstone, Hooper, Phillipson, Katoa, Kennedy, Sagala, Read and Poynton. I think you can definitely make an argument for both...

    CAS Rugby 2023

I think you need to include 2020 Waverley. Lot's of boys moving on to bigger and better things. I think this year's Barker team (2022) would take the cake though, with 5 boys in discussions to sign professional contracts, or have already signed contracts already (Katoa, Edwards, Phillipson...

Knox have a good thing going at the moment. Lots of talent coming through.

Barker would be silly to go. Wouldn't be taking their year 12's leaving a shell of the team they were last year at best. Participating would only be detrimental to Barker's image. December really weird time for such a competition.

    CAS Rugby 2023

Who does everyone think is the team to beat next year? Knox or Waverley? I think Barker won’t quite have the talent to compete with those two this year, and my early prediction will see Waverley taking home the Henry Plume Shield undefeated, just beating Knox. I would say Barker will be...

No. Oakhill is a great rugby school. Actually went there for a while. But Dean Hargreaves is the Gen Blue coach and was the reason he was interested in Barker. Also from a purely objective point of view, you've never watched Sam play if you think he regressed as a player. U15's he was a rugby...

Oakhill. Decided to join Barker for better coaching and it clearly worked.

    CAS Rugby 2023

Yep. Establishing Barker as an elite 1st XV program will in turn, want parents with children who are involved in rugby to attend Barker. Scholarships don’t destroy that culture or Waverley and Oakhill and the GPS schools wouldn’t have culture. Move on.

I disagree. If you get shafted in year 11 or 12 you’re simply not good enough.

So same as knox and Waverley then.

    It absolutely is.

    CAS Rugby 2023

Yep. In 2 years Barker made a soccer player into a fullback who scored 4 tries in one game playing for CAS and who had 14 NSW players in one opens age group… but they are a rubbish footy program that buy all their talent in the eyes of footy genius jumping_jack… think it’s time people like JJ...

This may be the most bitter thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
  16. RedOrDead

    CAS Rugby 2023

Yep. But they did. It’s not like Knox hadn’t done the same thing. And Waverley for that matter.

    CAS Rugby 2023

And And Tom Livingstone who was unlucky to not make Aussie Schoolboys I believe started in the prep? Maybe it was year 7.

    CAS Rugby 2023

They beat Waverley by like 20? Not 1. And Sayoun improved so much from the time he started at Barker… he at one point wasn’t even looking like making the 1’s at Barker and he improved out of sight… because Barker is a great rugby program.

Mate… he joined in year 7… and his older brother was already at the school… pull your head in
