    Wallabies 2023

The coach is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has to win every game that he can NOW as well as develop the playing resources for the RWC. He knows he will be criticised whatever he does. The only facet of his tenure that I could possibly criticise would be the injury toll, and even...

    Wallabies 2023

Desperate people do desperate things. The selectors obviously thought he was the best available option for the position. Neither Lolesio nor Vunivalu was in contention for the spot

I reckon we should play 10 man rugby and strangle the Saffers to death before spinning the pill out. No speculators, please.

    Wallabies 2023

Looking at it dispassionately, and I have a long history of wishing and hoping, it could be argued that rugby in this country has punched above its weight for many years. Most of national teams that we are competing against have inherent advantages. I won't go through them one by one. On the...

Gloom and doom, eh? If we get anything close to our best 23 onto the paddock we will do okay.

    Shute Shield 2022

The Woodies pack will be a good test for him. Or maybe vice versa!

    Waratahs 2023

Still shaking my head at the turnaround. Easts pack had a lot of trouble in the set pieces. Their #4 (and captain, I think), is tiny for a lock.

Not too soon, maybe next season?

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

Needs to put his head down and his bum up and get on with the hard stuff. Stop seagulling for a while.

A couple of points. Just because junior players get paid by NRL clubs does not automatically mean they are lost to our game. Secondly, your assertion that selecting players with a league background is, by definition, stupid. Maybe the people who put their time into this sort of junior rugby...

    Argentina v Australia II @ 5.10am 14/08

It looked to me as though we could not capitalise on incursions by Valetini, in particular. There should have been somebody at his hip when he made one of his many breaks.

The forwards decide who wins, so they say. That was not far from being our best possible pack, except of course for hooker. Or maybe the old adage is wrong?

    Wallabies 2023

Koro will start. I suppose Kellaway is locked in. Petaia is one of our best up and comers. If anybody should come in sooner rather than later I would argue that it would have to be Vunivalu. I know things are different in club rugby, but Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) was sensational yesterday for Eastwood in...

    Hard to watch that.

    Wallabies 2023

So they would prefer to write the RWC off this time around? It seems pretty clear that there is a succession plan which revolves around Rennie moving on after the World Cup. At the end of the day we just do not have the depth of player resources now, or ever.

    Ditto the Wildfires.

    Wallabies 2023

At least a league fan can say that an Australian team wins all the big games!! Ditto for the AFL, only more so!

Australia v England: Match III, SCG, Sat 16th July 7.55pm AEST

It might be worth pointing out that the Irish national team combines players, and supporters, from both the Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland. They play at Ravenhill (Belfast) as well as in Dubln. Some of their greatest have come from the north. Willie John McBride for example.
