    Shute Shield 2017

The only time the comp can be based on one game is the GF, to make the GF you need to win enogh games through out the season. I hope Uni dont protest - as they lost to Wests on the weekend.

Have a go at the second grade comp - its just as tight.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm still yet to disagree with you. All I said is that there are far larger problems at play than not having Poey. Some of the selections have really intrigued me - why isn't Fardy there? Test matches are played to win, not experiment.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

As per what Cyclo said. I don't think he would have changed the outcome. I'm confused about game plan and game management; Building phases, crossing the add line, earning the right. A number of people have said Hooper has been one of our strongest over these 3 tests - so that would mean one of...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

No we haven't. We can not relay on one man, our problems have been basic rugby skills across the park, building phases, crossing the add line, and scoring points. Yes he is one of our first picked - but he as one player will not change the problems we have all seen.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

What good is coming from that? Imagine if that $750k got invested in junior rugby development "invested". If it was handed out so he would come back and play for the Wallabies - is that really the sort of person you want. I bet there are a number of players who would do anything to wear gold...

    Shute Shield 2017

I was out last night had so many people say they changed from watching the test match to watching the SS and stay watching the SS. would love to know the ratings, and see it compared to last year on a graph round by round.

Since page 3 of this thread MMM are staying under the radar this year TBH and concentrating on the cuisine. Just enjoying SRU grow doing good things, in a great comp.

There were a number of Tahs players playing for Uni today - is the gap between Soup and Shute that big?

Not sure why you selected Timani. I didn't debate his line out ability. The back row needs the right balance - isolating and comparing players is a hard measure in the back row - 2 of our strongest Hoops and Poey, play a different style of game. I just believe there are better 6's and 7's out...

No No No - please don't move to quickly. I've seen quite a bit of him. How many Soup games has he started this year? He has to develop more (allot more) to become a test player.

Just seen the bench, maybe some one can give me a hand. Dempsey - how many games has he started for the Tah's this year = 4. Hanigan - at the start of the year he wasn't the Tah's first choice 6. Sorry whilst i agree on development and bringing players / youth through - i've seen players out...

But if we bring in payers from America, Eastern Europe etc - there loyalty will only have them move on. Making sport a profession, or a career has really changed the landscape - the old saying money can be the root of all evil...................

I do not disagree with you, i haven'y put into words correctly. Operating exhausted under pressure that can only be brought with match fitness. I believe our boys are fit enough, but operating ball in hand, with a game plan, under pressure, when exhausted - I'm not seeing it. I have no doubt...
