    Australia v England Test 1 Sat. July 2 @1955

That was a really gutsy, pleasing result, with every player plus the coaching staff deserving huge credit, but I just want to focus on three for a moment (not necessarily the best three). Kellaway showed, as he did last year, that he is a really complete rugby player. This was a bit of a punt by...

    Australia v England Test 1 Sat. July 2 @1955

That's the misfortune of being your age Purce. T Wallabies didn't win the Bledisloe for three decades, the 50's, 60's and 70's, so fans my age grew up with no expectations! Still, for some masochistic reason, I am still a rusted on supporter, and probably just as optimistic as you for tonight.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Sorry LeCheese, but if you're paid to do the commentary (and I am assuming they were) part of the brief is to check your pronunciations before the game, it's not that hard and it's part of the job. You're also supposed to present an unbiased view of the game. On here everybody continually...

By the way, Gilmore isn't an ex Tah coach, he is the current Tah defence coach, and in that job has done a pretty good job this year

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Well that was a very second rate performance by Aus A, a lot of players did themselves no favours, and I don't think anyone had an unblemished performance. For mine the two best were McReight and Foketi, but each of them marred their performance, McReight with careless penalties early, and...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

McReight starting to make up for his earlier penalties, big change in the lineout with Kaitu'u on, Foketi very strong.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Well that was ordinary in so many ways, and not only the reffing and commentating. Pollard's lineout throws, McReight's penalties, Lonergan's poor passing, Mark N (Nawaqanitawase)'s handling, Hodge coming in off his man and not trusting the man inside him, resulting in a try. Aus A props, Seru Eru and Foketi the...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I hate bagging the ref but this has been diabolical by Peyper. And yes, the commentators would make Kearns blush.

    Wallabies 2023

While not necessarily disagreeing with you Derpus, I have clients like you! Before I ring them, I have to brace myself for 20 minutes of 'the sky's going to fall in' doom and gloom, and a lecture on all that's wrong with the world. Anyway, you keep us mindless optimists grounded, and I enjoy...

    Wallabies 2023

Cheika's record completely contradicts any 'worst ever' comment (Premierships with Randwick, Leinster, Waratahs, WC final with Wallabies), however he clearly ran out of ideas the longer he went with the Wallabies, and stuck with games plans that he didn't have the players to execute. Imo his...

    Waratahs 2023

What don't you like about Holtz FP? Yes, he has some developing to do, but I thought he showed some real potential. He only got a touch up in the scrum in one game by a much more experienced prop, but he'll learn from that, it happens to all young props, he shows a willingness to work hard...

    Waratahs 2023

James Grant (his father) was originally a rugby player. Went to Stani's (I think), a rugby school, then used to play for Orange City, on to Country, Wallabies etc before changing to league, so really a rugby player who played some league, rather than the other way around.

    Wallabies 2023

Yes, no Rodda the big omission. Others to miss include McReight, Eru, Uelese, Daugunu (probably predictable), Simone, To'omua. Oh, and of course several more Brumbies hookers ;)

    Waratahs 2023

Guys who have stuffed up deserve another chance, and some (think Slipper, Perese, Hunt, Cooper, JOC (James O'Connor)) can grab that chance with both hands and really make a big contribution. However, those who get given chance after chance, and keep stuffing up demonstrate that they are learning nothing and/or...

    Waratahs 2023

Disagree PITD, Newsome has been very solid this year. No, he'll never be a Wallaby, but he is very much a Super rugby level player, I don't think he's had a poor game this year, and has very adequately covered injuries and absences everywhere from 13 out. Good luck to him, but I think the Tahs...
