Round 7 - Drua v Waratahs - CBUS Stadium Gold Coast

This game we will have to play tight 10 man rugby with only the occasional adventure past 10. The Drua backs are big and hard and need to be starved of the ball. This game we must win to stay in touch till the wounded heal and the cavalry arrive. I agree with BH. An injury to Tane Edmed before...

Fun fact: Fabian Holland still can't speak English.

Looking forward to the 40-50 citings next week.

    Round 5 - Brumbies v Reds GIO 18/3

The appeal will be interesting. In any Super Oz game you will find up to a hundred instances of shoulders below hips in rucks and that's before players collapse to the ground illegally. Likewise in any Super Oz game there will be 10-20 instances of charging into a ruck and not binding and yet...

    Round 5: Waratahs v Rebels SCG 1945 Saturday 19/3/22

Three days out from game day and there seems little interest. Maybe its a foregone conclusion so there's nothing to discuss but I don't think so. The Rebels will come good at some stage, they've got good players despite the injuries. The Waratahs took two steps backwards in the second half last...

Super Rugby round 4 - Waratahs vs Force - Sunday 13 March 2pm @ Leichhardt Oval

I thought it came off his knees but the ref was closer than my TV screen. I think it was called because the ref thought it looked pretty ugly and he blew on suspicion.

Super Rugby round 4 - Waratahs vs Force - Sunday 13 March 2pm @ Leichhardt Oval

Thought the Tahs game in the second half was really poor. In the backs the tactical kicking was atrocious, which meant we lost ground every time we tried it. Long to the corners to put pressure on was not in the game plan and it should have been. I thought that in the first 40 that whenever the...

Super Rugby round 4 - Waratahs vs Force - Sunday 13 March 2pm @ Leichhardt Oval

I thought the reverse games were supposed to swap so that the Force made up for the games that were moved. But looking at Superbru's schedule that doesn't seem to be Happening? Anyone got the full story?

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

That being said, he has done very well in the first two games this season. And if he plays well against the Brumbies, do we still then think we need an upgrade? How many good games will it take for us to say that we don't need an upgrade any more? I wouldn't put him on the wing but he has been...

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

Forecast update: 10-20 mm expected for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bring your raincoats!

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

If you leave out the stadium at Parramatta, which is used by multiple codes so it isn't always available, Leichhardt is the least worst option in Sydney. All the other suburban grounds are an abomination or a travel and parking nightmare. The SCG has to be the WORST rugby watching experience...

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

Leichhardt's much closer to the coast. While Leichhardt had 154 mm in the last two days, Kellyville had 98mm and out here in the southwest Camden had 44 mm.

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

Leichhardt got 120mm of rain yesterday, 34 mm today so far. The ground will definitely be "soft", bordering on boggy. Forecast is for 5-10mm Friday, 20-40mm Saturday and 10-20 mm Sunday. We definitely chose the best day to play.

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

I think ASY (Angus Scott-Young) at 6 is better for the Reds than Wright, he's just a monster in the tight stuff. ASY (Angus Scott-Young), Wilson, Wright/McReight is their best selection IMO. My guess would be Sinclair for Swinton but he's a completely different type of player. Tizzano for mine is an exclusive 7. Even a quarter fit...

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

Swinton is in doubt with a shoulder injury, as is Liam Wright for the Reds despite scan clearance (above). So it may well be the second string 6's starting this week.

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

Five home games there this year. Its a crappy suburban ground, but at least it's home. The table-topping Tahs will make it a fortress, I hope. Just how many people would have predicted after 2021 that The Waratahs would have been the sole competition leader with 14 rounds to go in 2022?

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Waratahs v Drua

The real issue is that the reserve THP last week was pants and the Queenslanders had a field day. So why was he selected again this week? He is two years of hard work off being super quality. That was a serious selection blunder and Horton and Cridge have to take some of the blame too. The Drua...

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Waratahs v Drua

Absolutely agree, it was a clear yellow. Berry and the TMO will be having a conversation with the assessors, I think. But overall the penalties are evening out, the Tahs have had some tough calls too. Berry has just been blowing too much - stuff that had no effect on the game is still getting blown.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Waratahs v Drua

There's a couple of interesting decisions: That one's a doozy, both wingers were tight decisions, Foketi has injury issues, only the pack was relatively straight forward.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Waratahs v Drua

Take out Bell, Swinton and Gordon and I think the caps = 0. Can we count Pietsch's caps in sevens to make it a bit more respectable?
