Only 5 teams in Sydney wide under 18s teams this year and two of them from 1 club. Essentially the game has retreated back to private schools and that’s about it.

I’m not sure anyone gives a fark about what the NSWRU supports or sanctions. I’d suggest that is half the underlying driver here. Insurance is easily obtained. If they are locking away referees for the competition you’d have to say things are well advanced. Remember you heard it here first.

Anyone have any mail on the subbies breakaway comp apparently being organised out of a north of the harbour club? Apparently refs have been offered 3 to 4 times their normal payments? Will be bank rolled by 3rd party and will say goodbye to amateur status.
