Understand your frustration Real Deal - but a couple of quick points. This is a rugby forum, so happy to talk about broader school success, but probably not relevant here. Secondly, you seem to be measuring success by wins and dollars in your earlier post - as you say above, there is a whole...

That's because the buses didn't leave until after full time in the firsts, and it was too wet to walk home !

Nope - I understand that some schools will be losing boarders, some schools not bothering with teams apart from A's as boarders away, others on holidays - strange organization !

Terrace wing dropped the ball over the line , and then hit the corner post on full time - correct ruling, but would have been difficult to see from the stands. Great start by BBC, great comeback by GT - one of the better games of the season.

Isnt it sad that we are all talking on a schoolboy rugby forum about all of the current players that will play NRL !!

Not at all - that would be a fantastic outcome, but one I think is all too rare in these scholarship programmes. What I dont get is why Nudgee, who had a team that went undefeated last year, and by big margins mind you, goes and hunts down a bunch of new boys with the sole purpose of bolstering...

Maybe Bear - although I think its tough to judge the 13As in the conditions on the weekend. For mine, I think they were worse against Churchie a couple of weeks ago.

Not quite sure what you are trying to ask TG ??? Yes they have, and yes, it was a great game, albeit a slog, between BSHS and BBC last weekend in the wet last Saturday.

Geez you're a tough marker RH - pissing down rain, wet underfoot - not really conducive to expansive rugby - more the grind one and two off the ruck that they played. Neither backs saw much ball at all. BSHS and IGS will be one to watch this weekend in the same age group.

Yup , of course they are Old School - and they will all still be there next year, and the year after, except probably in the Cs and Ds then because of yet further imports in a vain attempt to build the perfect beast ! As a test, lets see how many of this year's Nudgee 13As run on in the 14As...

You'd certainly hope so Dark Shark - you'd have to question the motives however when they top up an already strong team from last year .

They have also improved a lot from last year with a bunch of new recruits - again unnecessary given their performance in 2013. As a consequence, the 14Bs are untouchable. Screws up the whole competition.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

It's all about culture and the boys wanting to play for each other and for their school. That is the big risk in these scholarship programmes - generally , the boys are there for the wrong reasons and aren't engaged in the broader school or the broader school community. I would back a team of...

Fair reply Tooms, and an interesting proposition in changing the focus from schools to regions. I do have to disagree with you on a number of points though - I also know, and have coached for many years, the kids who play B, C and D rugby, and from my experience, yes they do enjoy playing...
