Christ there really is some hyperbole in the comments here. I'm not sure how the mess at the Rebels is the personal fault of Phil Waugh? The poor bloke can't win.

Matchbox twenty! I didn't think they were still around.

He's got some good assistants this year too. I rate Zane as a coach.

That needs to be framed in the Eddie Jones appreciation thread.

If we include established clubs, why not have a promotion/relegation system? Or would that just concentrate too many resources in the existing comps?

I agree with the member unions on this one. Hammer has been a disaster. He's made a number of calls that are not consistent with good governance, intervened to sack a coach still under contract, bringing in another one without any due diligence, and then helped the new coach start another war...

Was going to say the same thing. They're spot on with that one.

Oh, and Flook is such a good player. Hoping he has a big year next year.

There looks to have been a lot of work done on support play and offloads. It looks like it's still a work in progress though, as players are still a bit late on running support lines, etc. That try Mac Grealy scored in the second half was the result of some amazing support play and offloading...

RWC Final - New Zealand v South Africa 29/10/23, 0800 NZDT

It could have gone either way. Barnes thought that Savea didn't provide enough of a clear release before playing for the ball, and he got penalised accordingly. I too thought the penalty should have gone the other way, but I can see why he was penalised. It was really marginal.

His cleanout looked very similar to the hip drop tackle that is causing so many issues in league. I would have given him the benefit of the doubt, but his roll at the point of contact suggests it was absolutely intentional.

What a complete fucking shitshow, sounds like Eddie was just making shit up as he went. And instead of going on holiday, Jorgensen goes to the RWC, doesn't get to play in any of it, and ends up with a broken leg for his efforts?

Get to the semis and lose.

Yeah it's not a good look for the Chair when his wife is getting into petty arguments on social media defending a bloke he appointed who has just left a steaming pile on the doorstep. Sometimes things are better left unsaid. The game really doesn't need that right now.

Not surprised by that in the least. He'd be mad to come back.
