British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Not starting Te'o is either genius or desperate. The post match second guessing will be quite the sight to behold.

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Dear rugby gods. I appreciate that it's a bit much to ask, given that they won the Super rugby competition last year, but could the Hurricanes please knock off the Lions this evening. Thank you in advance.

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

What a cracking game. Retallick is getting into legend territory with his career arc. I've always been something of Sam Cane skeptic but he had a storming game. A game of if-only for the Lions. If they had scored that first try in the opening minute it would have given the match a different...

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Lions were more than ready to play. I was impressed with their ability to stick to their game plan and harass all evening. After TKB's brain explosion the Lions were ruthless in exploiting the Maori. Good stuff. Maori forwards seemed off the pace all game, which made it difficult for their...

All Blacks v Samoa & Tonga v Wales: June 16

You are almost certainly correct. I do wonder how they are going to keep Savea off the field though. Some combo of him coming on to replace Read or Cane early in the second half maybe which means having Cane as the backup captain is probably a little difficult. Soponga did more than enough...

All Blacks v Samoa & Tonga v Wales: June 16

The speed at which this iteration of the All Blacks turns defence into attack is a sight to behold. The Lions boyo's will be aiming for a mistake free match with ball in hand.

I thought Brodie taking over was midly interesting as well. Cane does have competition for his spot so there might be something to that.

    Worst Commentator Pole Action

Can I have a write in vote for Stuart Barnes? I've listened to a bit of the alternative commentary on SKY here in NZ. It's not good.

I am pleased to see Gatland is smart enough to know that giving the Maori game its due respect is good for the PR. I have vivid memories of the NZ media turning on Woodward after his classless comments after the loss in 2005. Not that the press hadn't been looking for a reason but they had kept...

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Well if bad refeerring is a thing in this series I think the version that results in five tries is probably more preferable, but that's just me. Stander, Lawes and maybe Biggar enhanced their reputations for the Lions. As Dan says above Naholo and Luke Whitelock were excellent.

Murray and Farrell were amazing. The rest of the match should be consigned to the dustbin of history as quickly as possible.

TRC 2016: Matches not involving Australia

The All Blacks played the last 20 like they had turned on a cheat mode in a video game. Retallick looked like he had been given a nod to turn on the the awesome. On another day Barrett's kicking would have been an issue.

Considering that my sons under 13 team offers more on attack than these boks appear to the wobs are going to have to work at it to lose.
