Exactly! At least this way, the talent drain is by and large isolated to just after the RWC giving us 4 years to develop replacements.

All you’re doing is throwing shit at a wall and hoping something sticks It’s not very well thought out and the potential negatives far and away outweighs the potential positives

Hurling continues to grow in Ireland, why don’t we follow what they’re doing? In many ways they’re a lot more similar to our position in rugby than soccer is

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

But that’s in spite of the A-league not because of it Soccer has a big enough fan base to be self-sustaining irrespective of a decent domestic competition for generations there wasn’t even a pro comp in Australia, the A-league could close up shop tomorrow and soccer would still thrive in this...

How do you see it being reinvigorated if, super rugby becomes incredibly sub par, compared to what it is now, or even ceases to exist. And all of Australia’s top players move to comps in unfriendly viewing times, interest will go down massively Only possible positive could be more of a focus...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

It’s not doing a bad job, yes there’s a heap of super standard players overseas but not anything more than any other rugby playing nation has abroad and what there’s be 2-5 players absolute max who would be considered for a wallabies match day 23 (depending on personal selections)? I’d still...

Either side of the harbour is still a massive surface area to cover. Dividing it like that does definitely eliminate the extremes of travel but would still include a massive amount of travel time

    Waratahs 2019

Especially for the wallabies, even if he is a squad player, his skill and experience will be valuable to steer the team around the paddock against some of the weaker teams in our pool when our first string side is resting

Is Pasitoa one of those players like Beale, Pocock, O’Connor who may be capable of playing super rugby straight out of high school? If so massive loss and possibly not a lot of foresight from the reds given Duncan and Kerevi

Depends where you live, if you’re on the north shore you’re pretty sweet, anywhere else you’re pretty fucked

Do we know how long it is for? It might just be one of those joker contracts that the NH clubs did last World Cup to cover their international stars who were missing

Not really, that’s exactly what he is, he took 10 weeks off to assist with the Otago NPC team and also coaches a club side but his main coaching experiences come from high schools, he is even coaching his high school team next year after GRR is done....it’s not neccisarily a bad thing but he is...

Very good yes, world class......I dunno? Depends what you consider world class, I’d say you’d have to be top 5 in the world or thereabouts, are either of these guys in the top 5 lineout jumpers in the world?
  18. southsider

    Aussie Player Exodus

Following sullys criteria of having a world class lineout jumper in the backrow, I’m not sure that either nz or sa qualify
