    Pic needs a caption

and also probably why he's using the trap bar - much easier to maintain good spinal position than with a barbell for this kind of lifting

I don't think JOC (James O'Connor) is the same caliber as he was before the first time he left Australia but he'd had to have fallen a very, very long way to not get into the Reds 23 on merit.

I think Maddocks will come good physically if he's given a bit more time - only 22 (Mogg debuted around 25 I think - Banks is 25 or 26 now) and considerably taller than both Mogg and Banks. Still lots of growing into his body to do at 22 and already thicker in the torso than Banks/Mogg too. Or...

    The Israel Folau saga

You heard it here folks, just because large swaths of the Middle East want to stone all gays to death means that we should tolerate bigotry within society on the other side of the world.

    The Israel Folau saga

Hah, I've never actually looked at Folau's Insta before now. What a dump. So you'd feel the same if Sonny Bill started Tweeting about his religion's views on women? I mean, he didn't make them up himself, after all. Surah 4:34 Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has...

    The Israel Folau saga

I also must have missed where any of these guys repeatedly and publicly condemned a minority group to eternal suffering. Bit of an apples and oranges situation on several levels - closest thing would be the incident with Beale a few years ago and even then, no bigotry in play there. The...

Really. The idea of a head coach learning the job, on the job, at the pinnacle of the sport is an absolute joke. We've seen time and time again that there isn't much between the best Super Rugby coaches and the best Test Rugby coaches but there sure as shit is a gulf between the appointments the...

    Reds 2019

Anyone ok with a Super Rugby coach learning how to do the gig while on the job really needs to lay off the Kool-Aid. The idea that the Reds are "investing" (as a professional franchise) by stringing together 5+ (I've lost count) losing seasons and trying to lock in a further three is just...

I agree with this but fuck me if cross-kicks to Folau aren't the most obvious thing ever to implement (and especially in Cheika's system you don't really need to make any changes to the overall phase-play structure to set them up) and it took us ages to really start making use of it.

    Reds 2019

I dunno, I don't really expect them to stop kicking the shit out of the ball at every single possible junction. Seems like the side is pretty committed to that particular set of tactics. We should have set piece ascendancy and NSW's kicking is also awful so I don't know why they'd pick this...

I don't know if I trust Duncan's defensive decision making at 13 - his worst attribute is a tendency to shoot out and get the call wrong. Petaia being injured so quickly really fucking sucks.

Helps that their young guys who come in are generally much better than our young guys. Considering the squad makeup and the attrition rate in Super Rugby throughout a season.. we'll be seeing plenty of young guys getting time regardless of the RWC cycle.

Wasn’t part of the factor in Matt’s move that his wife got a contract to play professionally, in a higher caliber competition, overseas? Actually, since that period overlaps with the last time I really cared a lot about the Wallabies, I am certain of this. Bit different from someone playing a...

The way that the game has been ridden into the ground throughout Australia in the period of time since I visited in 2013 is nothing short of spectacular, in the worst way.

Hindsight hardly necessary. Plenty of folks on here were calling it an apalling apointment because even at the time, it very clearly was. Why would a struggling provincial head coach, coaching one of the most insipid attacks in Super Rugby at the time, be promoted to Wallabies attack coach? It...

You're saying this like Bernie was some sort of coaching savant that got drug down by Cheika. If anything, Cheika took him far further than he had any right to go at this stage in his career.

Yeah a natural footballer 15 that can play the ball, kick, and also cover 10 answers a lot of questions about our backline - good pickup

So I see you guys build your stadiums (or at least this one) pretty much the same way we do.. public funding, private profits.
