    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

I plugged in a 21 : 22 loss into the World ranking calculator. It drops us out of the top 10 to be below Fiji. I think we should probably be aware of the risks as Wallabies fans. Sure the posts by MS recently have been ... unacceptable (?) but shit hits the fan time is here. Schmidt has said...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

So the early reports are pretty much on the button. I didn't want to comment until now. It often seems I am on my own, but I quite like Jake Gordon, all the same - wow. Tupou given plenty of room, did not expect him to start. Big welcome and best wishes to Williams, Flook, Kailea, Blyth, Cale...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Clearly I have unrealistic views. The Reds were getting that size a crowd back in 2011/12 in Super games. We continue to be told that the Wallabies earn the cash to fund Super. How the heck does that work with 35k home crowds?

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Ireland used to run against the usual policy of hoofing the ball if something doesn't happen. They'd hold crazy long possession and trust themselves to retain the ball. I can't recall if that was under Schmidt but I presume so. If we are trying something in that order we are surely presuming a...

You describe where I live. I think developing Perry park is entirely consistent with this local growth. Ditto the show grounds.

    Wallabies 2024

I'd argue that Liam was a better all round 7 than both. Pocock and Gill had specific strengths that were better all the same. No room for 3x world class 7's in the Wallabies, though. Can't complain about what we got from Pocock, let alone Hooper. It is also nonsense to quote Cheika and the...

I suspect that neither is really "King Tide" flooding. Where I live in Newstead (5 min walk from Perry Park) was cut off by floods and some flooded basements. Definitely the riverside walk and more goes under with King tides. Breakfast Creek likelwise subject to King tides and actually some...

Seriously? Not having a go just completely surprised at the statement. No doubt it is in the vicinity of both Brisbane River and Breakfast Creek and king tides will come up. But it is what, 4-5 feet above the road? If there is actual flooding I would think it went under somewhat later than...

    Wallabies 2024

Between the huge support positions and the hilariously disparaging, we should remember it is a one game appointment. Happy to see Schmidt work his way through the team, step by step. As a Reds fan, I wish Wright all the best and support him driving the game so strongly that Schmidt wants to...

The stadium is new so I haven't been to it (though have been to it's predecessor). Give it 30 mins though. Drinks before/after on Oxford Street. If you're going by train you'll need to allow a good 20 mins walk.

    Ballymore Redevelopment

Perry Park is a hop, jump and a skip to Newstead drinking and eating. Closer than Caxton Street to Lang Park. Ditto traffic on Caxton Street is a bigger issue than on Abbotsford Rd and is dealt with. Construction access at Perry Park is far superior. There are far fewer residences to be...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

That's a bloody open question, ;). In theory the game is continuous, but ref calls tend to break it up. The ball cant go forward out of the hands, but can be kicked forward. You can't have blockers to the runner. Strangely the exceptions are the scrum and the maul. Scrum: the big fat blokes...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Minor issue but swap Kellaway and Daugunu. I'd give Kellaway the statistical greater space and Daugunu the likely more traffic. I'd probably have a different VC as well in fact I'd start Tate. For that matter I'd start Lolo over Donaldson. All of these are quibbles only and def like your 23.

    Michael Hooper: "What a ride!"

Every now and then a particular player deserves a particular recognition. [I think that the mods will let this thread through.] Farewell Michael Hooper. What a servant to the game. x 125 caps x 69 of these as captain ABC on Hooper Roar on Hooper espn on Hooper Planet Rugby on Hooper

That seems a bit of a stretch, Strewth. As far as I have heard Kutley was not injured by impact, tackle, going down in a scrum or ruck. Surely he goes down here in Shute or 5 mins into his appearance for the Wallabies. happy to be corrected

Maybe, but it probably wise not to make presumptions.

Slim, I can only agree with your reaction to the frequently ott reactions here to AAA. Still, he has not been at his best in the scrum across the season in my thinking. I'd suggest he will be both captain and starting tight head. Deservedly. I'm not entirely comfortable though, seeing a solid...

Completely agree here. Noting firmly that the Wallaby income is not a sustainable income for a comp. 2 issues, 1) we are locked into shrinkage like it or not right now; 2) Super funded without sufficient content and sufficient income is a dead end.
