I think Doran reads my posts on here... https://www.theroar.com.au/2023/07/25/can-a-town-planner-fix-australian-rugby-the-wallabies-great-ra-eddie-surely-hope-will-take-on-crunch-role/

    Wallabies 2023

Well, I suppose it's a pretty low bar, only other one I can think of is Sean McMahon, could've been a real goodie if he wasn't continually shunted to 8 by Cheika for Hoops (which created an unprecedentedly small & unbalanced backrow). Peak MacMahon 2017 was Australia's own Savea, the guy had...

    Wallabies 2023

Samu better at the ruck, Hooper better work-rate, Hardwick a far greater loss than both - most complete Aussie 7 since Pocock.

    Wallabies 2023

That's because it's Rennie's team & Eddie is ultimately still figuring out how to understand Rennie's team... that's a bit of a problem, eh? After 3 constructive years Rennie knew his team very well... which buttons to push... how to get the most out of his big names - do you think it's a...

    Wallabies 2023

The Lord Laurie echoes everything I have said earlier on here: “From watching the game, I don’t know that they have great clarity themselves at the moment,” Fisher told The Roar Rugby Podcast on Tuesday of the Wallabies. “They have a new defensive coach [Brett Hodgson] who’s never coached...

    Wallabies 2023

Firing Rennie (and hence Fisher) was stupid and indicative of RA being stuck thinking Aus are a top 4 team having an off day. His % was average but it was all against T1 teams and he got some really good results. It's clear that Rennie/Fisher should still be the Wallabies coaches. Sure Dave's...

    Wallabies 2023

Well that's not a great admission right now is it? Considering how things were building so very nicely under Rennie. McLennan spat the dummy I would suggest, see the problem with Eddie Jones, he's the type of coach who comes in to detonate everything and start all over again, unfortunately a...

    Wallabies 2023

If Rennie was still the coach I suggest he'd be doing exactly that, unfortunately Eddie has no clue, doesn't seem aligned with Australian rugby after being NH based for years, hasn't been observing Super Rugby closely enough judging by his selection of Hodge, Vunivalu, Hooper, Uelese, last week.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

O'Connor is a much better 12 than Hodge who's been a journeyman at test level since forever, coaches continually get deceived into picking the guy because of his 'utility value' - yet he doesn't offer any point of difference as a player compared to others, his big boot and his perceived 'size'...

    Wallabies 2023

I came across this on reddit, as you said every coach since Deans had suffered the same systemic problems - what makes them think he'd do any better with the current Wallabies than Rennie did?

    Wallabies 2023

Quade was hugely critical of the stodgy gameplan Robbie had him playing which didn't get the best out of him, Deans didn't assess the skillsets & attributes of his players and then look to build a gameplan around their strengths, he always tried to force square-pegs in round-holes. In contrast...

    Wallabies 2023

That's laughable. Quade has one of the highest win records (64%) of any Wallabies player in decades when starting during a sustained period 2010-2023 of Wallabies being poor/average. If anything he is underrated and his contribution to Australian rugby is massively understated. He is simply...

    Wallabies 2023

Carter looked good because McDermont gave him the ball. White must have given Cooper the ball five times the whole match! Someone needs to remind Eddie of this article he wrote criticizing Deans for exactly the same approach he's resorting to now...

    Wallabies 2023

Eddie needs wake up and allow Quade to run the gameplan just as McKenzie did. The playing off 9 and heavy kicking strategy does not utilize Quade's skills effectively. Seems to be true that McKenzie was the only one who understood Quade is effectively a coach on the field and needed to be...

    Wallabies 2023

Eddie's selections under the microscope. The maul has gone backwards considerably. The defense was optional, especially around the ruck. People looked unsure of their place in the line. I wonder post 2023 world cup if they will keep any of these assistants lol? The defensive structure and...

    Wallabies 2023

Quade = a Wallabies win, as long as the forwards can maintain parity, Quade the all-encompassing leader will command what is at last deservedly his team, not since 2013 under McKenzie has Quade been given a free reign to control the team. It's his kingdom now, jealous spiteful critics like...

Yes, surely he's a certainty to takeover the Wallabies after Eddie's abusive brimstone approach fizzles out in 3 years time...

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

Nawanqanitawase is Australia's best outside back behind Koroibete, criminal that Rennie isn't the coach anymore as he would be starting Marky marks at 14 you betcha. Best under the highball, best in the air, best everywhere.
