    QLD Premier Rugby 2025

always thought a nice idea would be allocating some type of top up money to the individual clubs that they could use to sway reds players to join them in clubland. let’s say every club had 5000. A club could use that 5000 to convince a red to align to them or they could use that 5000 to support...

Matt Gibbon and Josh Canham are already aligned with bond. They’ve been playing for the bullsharks the last couple of years whilst they were with the rebs

wikipedia said he played for Randwick from 2016-2019 although 2020 he ended up at eastwood. There could possibly be a Randwick connection at Crosby road?

Sorry I meanno changes at head coach. should be interesting to see which teams improve with the stability of year 2. norths is the outfit I have my eye on…. Think they might have a bumper offseason with recruits. Finally able to sell a vision with their premier grade outfit

Guessing all the coaching staffs are coming back? I thought perhaps a change at Sunnybank and Easts but haven’t heard anything to suggest a change is incoming.

    Queensland Reds 2025

Is Dawai capped? I thought foreign players were fair game as long as they had an eligibility pathway in Australia. we’ve had some good servant over the year that have slotted in only to be lost to wallabies eligibility within matter of months because of limited super rugby gigs & they left the...

I mean sure - I do feel sorry for them. Not because they are mothers but rather because some were pouring their own coin into an operation. I know it happens at a grass root levels as well. Someone going above and beyond to make sure the operation is running smoothly as possible

Sorry missed your comment - i did go back and read the article slim posted. I agree there was early financial support for the rebels out of the gate by RA. Lot of resources pooled into making sure club was going to be in a spot to best succeed. We are going to be the only professional sports...

I think it’s important to compare apples to oranges braveheart. Queensland is already established rugby market and the QRU has other income sources… you’d certainly feel that pinch but the game in this country is run on the back of volunteers and we’d manage to get by. Some folks are asking to...

i agree about the match ground, gym stuff being problematic. I think the rebels should have played in a smaller and more botique venue than aami stadium. there’s not really a lot of options down there… but it (woman’s team) still would of been a cheaper exercise then keeping the men’s program...

my point about the oily rag wallaby man is we don’t have a culture of dependency at grassroots level. the idea a lawsuit would impact the grassroots is laughable because the grassroots is more likely to see support via a community grant from the govt compared to a investment from the governing...

wonder why RA didn’t want to support woman’s rugby in Victoria… after they said it was only the men’s license that wouldn’t be granted.

Great so what are they doing to assist /grow the game in Victoria?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

not really dude. boots on the ground feedback from rebels supporters is RA is non existent at grassroots level. Its the same here in QLD too… the game is run on the contents of an oily wet rag on the back of the blood sweat and tears of volunteers. I look at the other codes and see their...

Care to elaborate… Other than a few disbanded NBL clubs I remember in Melbourne giants, magic and dragons (that have since been replaced) I think it’s actually a good sporting market and more that RA failed Melbourne and not the other way around.

I’m guessing it’s what happened this year at club championship… that was a festival of rugby

McLennan was a lose cannon. Was shooting from the hip, poking the RL bear etc but he did have some commercial interest value in that he would navigate us to our next tv deal.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I was fully on board with last November clean out. but when we landed on Herbert as our new chairman… I personally wanted McLennan back. I guess logic of this all is we gotta stick with these losers for a little more while. If we did another board clean out it wouldn’t look good for any future...

this is what stings the most. Centralisation was suppose to help pool resources & hopefully prevent minimise things like this happening. I personally dont think there’s any quality leadership at RA. Need to clean the board… AGAIN!!!
