    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Usual story a couple of days after the game. Who is charged with starting the 3-2-1 POTY thread though?

    All-Time Crim 1st XV

Might need to move Glen Ella into the centres. I think Hogg is purely and squarely a fullback, but I could be wrong. I agree though, internationals displace the nobodies. edit: I just saw Craig Wells there. I dated a chick and he dated her afterwards. Had no idea about those claims. 2nd...

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I agree, somewhat. I thought he was a bit disappointing without being awful. That pass he wasn't expecting when facing the wrong way but somehow managed to salvage it into a backline play kinda summed up his night.

    Brumbies 2024

It is Scooter but it exemplifies that the Super Rugby model is busted in its current iteration. The sum of revenue from broadcast, sponsorship, ticket sales, membership and merchandise is not covering costs. Despite being the best team the Brumbies suffer from being located in a place where not...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

I was a backrower and the faster the halfback could clear the ball the better, but I’ll admit to not being a great reader as what is fast and what is slow when it comes to watching live. However what was obvious to me was that Gordon’s clearance was lighting compared to his Welsh counterpart...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Bit of positive press starting to do the rounds. Better than Buzz Rothfield's piece this morning about how the Women's SOO viewing numbers are an embarrassment to the Wallabies...

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

He is a former Aus 7s player, he knows the drill
  9. KOB1987

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I think the main reason people are proposing some changes is because that’s what Schmidt said before the game I.e. something like everyone in the squad would get an opportunity these 3 games. Anyways Joe will select who he is going to select so I’m going to give up trying to forecast changes...

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I did forget about Hooper when I was doing my list. Perhaps give Valetini a break completely, although that might happen v Georgia.

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I'm not sure that either were technically dropped though - Wilson was a bit shy of fit to be getting a run and Smith apparently needed a break from the intensity for a week or two. Won't be surprised to see either or both called up for this week and/or the Georgia game.

    South Africa v Ireland 1am AEST 07/07

Ireland may well have won if James Lowe was still in Waikato.

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

Agreed. I think Gordon will hold his spot as he executed his part in Schmidt’s game plan flawlessly. I think Slips needs a rest, he looked busted. Keep him going in the squad but let his body recover until the RC. Bobby V has also played a lot of hard minutes. Re Wilson I gather he was sent...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

What @young gun said. It was 9th v 10th in the world and the Wallabies are on the nose thanks to 2023. Matildas get a crowd like that v their nearest rival Norway (ie 11th v 12th) it makes the front page of the paper and they get a ticker tape parade if they win. Hopefully the result and...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

I doubt it, the difference in the scrum was noticeable when Tupou went off. It’s a luxury to have 2 close to world class THPs and their roles are just as important whether they start or finish. Tupou’s role is to assert early scrum dominance and physicality in general play, whereas AAA's is...

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

I’m sure he’d be better, that’s the point. The other option is Joey Walton. Edit: i forgot about Hamish Stewart. Give him a run.

What are the thoughts on playing Ikitau at 12 next week? Pending fitness of course.
  18. KOB1987

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Has to be 15+ to get the maximum spread but we have at least jumped Italy into 8th
  19. KOB1987

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Lots of rust expectedly. There are a few that will get subbed out next week to explore other options, but the core was good I thought.

Joe Schmidt Mr 100%. There’s also 7 players out there who have never lost a test match.
