Maximising the opportunity of Rugby 7s in Australia

Hybrid talk is far too Aus centric. The IRB NZRU ETC ETC have zero reason to go along with a hybrid game. The game is strong in the six nations. Growing rapidly in the USA Canada parts of Eastern Europe and Asia. Just because the game is struggling here doesn't mean that it has global problems...

New French TV Deal - Implications for Rugby as a whole

i think Australia will inevitably move to the NZ model of allowing sabbaticals to senior players that meet certain eligibility requirements. SA selects from abroad, NZ allows sabbaticals. i cant only see that the weakest of the SANZAR teams will have to make a step in this direction and i think...

    JOC (James O'Connor) Gooonne

and further, i don't think moving to the glamour club of toulon is an effort by him to grow up. he's going where the sun shines, the money flows and you get treated like a prince. btw, when is toulon going to financially implode?

    JOC (James O'Connor) Gooonne

he reminds me a bit of brent russel. super talented and great player across wing, fullback and 10 but in each of those positions there were better players. i don't think this is the massive loss it would've been a few years ago. fullback is covererd, 10 is covered and i think the wobs have some...

    June 2014 Internationals

I agree completely. it is a terrible idea to play it at etihad. stadium must make the ARU a very attractive offer.

    Wales v Wallabies, Cardiff, Nov 30 2013

shaping up very nicely. just a few areas that need a bit of work. props, second row, centres. Slipper Moore Kepu Simmons (shaping up very nicely particularly in the lineout) Horwill ( I think he will stick around in the XV and is picking up his game. would like to see a bit more work off the...

    June 2014 Internationals

i would pay an extra 15% on the ticket price if it was at AAMI. Etihad was only good for the lions because it was a sell out. shy 40k and it loses atmosphere very quickly. not to mention terrible viewing. ARU should scrap the etihad deal unless its england, ireland,or NZ playing.

    Ireland v Australia, Dublin, 16 Nov 2013

Aus forward pack was improved in all facets though still some issues with support play I think from some of them I thought the front row played well throughout and I thought kepu had a good game. Ben mowen doesn't seem to have the power to consistently get over the gain line or maybe he starts...

    USA and Canadian Rugby

a strange set up. the difference between the route canada has gone versus the usa shows up on the field, imo. we have club rugby which feeds into regional rep rugby (canadian rugby championship - BC, Albert, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec/Maritimes and Newfoundland) from there you make the Maple...

    Long Term Combinations

i personally think it is astounding how much the wallabies miss pocock and either higgers or palu at the back of the scrum, higgers off his superb super 15 form last year. I was unsure of where pocock would sit coming back into the squad next year, but for mine, the RC and the last test have...

    JOC (James O'Connor) Gooonne

ya not that worried to be honest. i think a year in the premiership will blunt his game and he will be battling with Cummins, Tomane, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), and an improving Betham for a wing spot - not to mention Henry Speight. not like either outside Betham are a step backwards. fullback options are folau...

    USA and Canadian Rugby

sorry BC place is the wrong turf and rugby canada is working with the IRB to sort it out somehow (i imagine by getting the turf approved as its used by MLS and CFL) but b.c place is 50,000 capacity

    USA and Canadian Rugby

Yes BMO stadium which has become the unofficial home of rugby. 20,000 plus for Ireland, 22,500 for Maori, and I think 15000 for USA. I think all blacks v USA would be a bad idea. Total blowout and you'd be better off with another Maori test or all blacks v another top tier - England would be...

Looked like we did well until about 60 minute mark. DTH was out as his wife had a baby the night before. Jebb Sinclair at London Irish and the stormers wasn't there. Nor was jamie cud more, phil Mackenzie at sale, Nathan hiryama and Sean duke our sevens stars. Disappointing a few of them...

    Rebels 2014

what are people's thoughts on our starting XV or match day 23 for next year? I have less and less of an idea every time i look at our squad Alo Emile Sexton Toby Smith/Weekes (not sure which side smith plays) Pyle Jones Timani Colby Fainga Higginbotham Zacker Hegarty veainu Ellison Inman...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

i would suggest there were several other reasons why we lost the lions series. we lost one game on the back of missed kicks. we lost the final game for reasons completely unrelated to goal kicking and we won the middle game thanks to goal kicking.
