    Shute Shield 2020

Wests always have a surprise in them. If it all comes together they can beat just about anyone, but Rat Park on a windy Saturday is a hard task.

    Shute Shield 2020

I'd love a Marlin victory, but on form Gordon will be too good. Manly coming off a draw with Hunter and a loss to Norths in which they made too many fundamental errors for this level.

    Shute Shield 2020

Apologies, there's an old website out there with a different draw. I'll delete and adjust to avoid confusion (looks like I'm the most confused :))

    NSW AAGPS 2020

I was talking about the Grammar teams in that age group not Shore, I think that No 7 was indicating that the current Director of Rugby at Grammar used to work at Shore? But it may well be me that is mistaken. Anyway, I haven't seen Shore play this year and can't comment. I'll be there this...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Their 14A, 15A and 16A were all quite well skilled when I saw them a couple of weeks back. 13s looked a bit rough.

    NSW AAGPS 2020

He was flawless running the kicking tee. No word on his return, but I wouldn't think that he would play a trial game so first GPS game would be his first game (assuming he plays at all).

Kings were tradesman-like. They did the basics pretty well and were solid without being brilliant. Their best player injured and ran the kicking tee. They were always in control against an inexperienced opposition. Newington will struggle this year without a massive improvement on Saturday.

I don't think they realise that on this thread we're all used to a bit of burley being thrown around and it's rare anyone here takes the bait.:)

    Shute Shield 2020

I don't think Manly are as strong as in recent years and I also suspect that Hunter are taking a bit of time to gel as a team and will continue to improve. EDIT: And I think that Uni had some COVID issues during the week, which put some of their players into isolation.

Hopefully they are here to stay. A fantastic move by anyone and everyone who got them into this year's competition.

    Shute Shield 2020

We can, although to give them their full title they are the Hunter and Newcastle Rugby Union Wildfires, hence HDRU Wildfires. :). That's a bit of a mouthful though, so either Hunter or Newcastle or Hunter Newcastle are fine by me. Whatever promotes the game the best in that area. I also...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Now that the media hysteria regarding the signing of a talented young player, I think it's fair to say that many rugby people are operating under some outdated stereotypes. The first being that because of it's greater international presence, that rugby offers more opportunity that league...

You've heard of 'island time?' This phenomenon is know as 'Marist time' and it can even effect the refs time piece. Just as the Bermuda Triangle can result in clocks and compasses going haywire, thus works the Marist Triangle.:)

The clock at HH is a unique timepiece. At various times it seems to go quicker than a normal clock - often when the locals are defending a small lead, while on other occasions is seems to go slowly, stop or disappear - these seem to occur when the lads in cerise and blue are pounding the...

Full Time at Kings Kings 32 def Newington 12 Well done to Kings on a tradesman like display of the fundamentals and proved too good. A view young Newington team have a steep learning curve ahead. Kings had Australia's highest played ball boy running the kicking tee.;) Great school spirit.
