Got it. Definately some confused people including me around. I thought they were playing this weeks games at North Sydney oval but they are next weeks semi finals. The "qualifying finals" are this weekend and are at the respective top 3 finishers home grounds. That makes more sense.

I would have thought we could beat Iggies but after Saturday not so sure. With all 4 grades in the semis we will be stretched too thin to make much of an impact anyway. Colts are our only good bet to make the GF from here I'd say.

Full credit to Redfield today. The big Newport crowd had little to cheer all day. A few injuries but no excuses, just out played. Do they ever get a bus? The dozen or so that game up for speeches looked like they were ready to settle in but all had to drive.

Newport have tried that and it doesn’t work. Rats 5th grade only play every 2nd week and kick off at 9.00am but for whatever reason grade players don’t want to play subbies. Some handy players amongst them too.

From what I understand Newport are 50/50 about going up. My view is they would be crazy not to as DIV 3 is essentially a western Syd comp with all games bar 1 well over an hour away. Better to go up and get BOBs, Lindfield and maybe Forest back. They would be in a similar boat to BOBs around...

Some big scorelines over the weekend. With a week off I'd expect plenty of lower grade forefeits in the last few rounds as players drift away and call it a season.

If I was subbies I would use 2020 as an opportunity to refresh. With Balmain heading to lower Div status I would let BOBs go back to DIV3 as they cannot field a 4th grade. With the remaining 14 teams in Div 1 & 2 I would run a 13 game comp next year with the top 8 in Club Champs making up Div...

Interesting that Balmain are now only fielding two teams in DIV 1. They’ll be lucky to see out the year and Div 5 or maybe even folding being their fate in 2020? Hats of to those remaining clubman risking life and limb in 100-0 thrashings to see out till the end.
