Australia v England: Match III, SCG, Sat 16th July 7.55pm AEST

I would say given he doesn't play there and hasn't been training there or indeed with the squad until recently that no it doesn't. There is an obvious upside with some x factor brought in to the bench however.

No 10 cover is a big gamble.

Or the inverse with Bell coming on later which I think we will see. Bell's penalties were largely forced errors last week as opposed to miscues. He will likely be a GOAT LHP for us but right now he is still on the long run up, hopefully to have a massive world cup next year.

Australia v England: Match III, SCG, Sat 16th July 7.55pm AEST

This was noticeable at the ground on Saturday past. They were playing quite wide out at that point so he needed to pass from an upright position but his steps before passing were not very urgent at all.

    Australia v England Test 1 Sat. July 2 @1955

Yep, since when does one bad super rugby game write off a prop with over 100 test caps and over 200 pro caps? I'd still have Bell off the bench for impact. A front row of Slipper, either of Porecki or Fainga'a, and Tupou if available will be difficult for pretty much any team.

    Wallabies 2023

It was obviously unfair in a broad sense of the word but I'm not aware of a conspiracy in the minds of Qld fans about Moore Park offices working against McKenzie, maybe that they could gave supported him better. Perhaps this is something you just made up? I think many Rugby fans outside of NSW...

Is this trolling? They're both NSW developed. At least McKenzie didn't drop Horwill for Mumm.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I take your point but I'm sceptical that RA could survive any period of time where existing fans are agnostic about caring for teams. This would be the time to try however with WC and Lions coming up.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I'm all for giving NZR a shot across the bow for what I perceive to be years of condescension however I fundamentally do not agree with this comment from McLennan: “Some board members have strong opinions that a domestic only competition like the AFL and NRL would generate more money for the...

    Reds 2022

Absolutely fascinating interview with JOC (James O'Connor), starting at about the 18 minute mark. It's a testament to his quality as a player that he's still relevant to Aus rugby after spending time in every position from 10-15. You wonder what he could have done if he'd stayed at wing/fullback. He's clearly a...

    Reds 2022

Kalani Thomas has been very strong off the bench this year, and especially in the last few weeks. I'd hope to see him with a few more minutes next week (assuming it is not close [I don't think that's a wild assumption]) and potentially starting a few games next year with Tate resting every once...

    Aussie Derby Pole of Hatred

In a competition where the Reds and Tahs are fighting each other for finals spots without a massive dark cloud of the Kiwi teams inflicting humiliation to the degree of making all other previously considered green shoots totally meaningless I will be more than happy to bring out the sky blue...

Blues vs Reds, Sat 14 May, 2022. Eden Park.

We were probably never winning yesterday but the performance was pretty shocking. I could not discern much in the way of a strategy and basic fundamentals were sorely lacking. Yes we have an injury crisis but other than Anae the starting xv have been training with the squad all year. Edit: and...

He is obviously a great mentor but it may be possible that his success is more due to a crop of very good players graduating into the senior team at the same time. Tupou, Mcreight, Wilson, Tate, Petaia, Paisami are all fantastic talents. Head coach is a stretch too far at this level at this time.

On the one hand Thorn clearly instils a fundamentally solid work rate and attitude in players and has successfully identified future talent since arriving at the QRU. On the other hand we have no clear philosophy to our strategy or tactics from week to week. Throwing it to Vunivalu is not a...

    Wallabies 2023

No Uru surprises me given some of the names on this list but 6 is a position of strength. I'd have him in a squad for the learning opportunity given his talent and ticker but at the same time i don't think he's close to being selected in a test match due to a need for polishing his game. It...
