Hi folks, All good points regarding referee numbers, I agree with some and have some thoughts on others. I think it's important to acknowledge that SIRRA is a volunteer association and no referee volunteers their time for money. Our members are involved because they are rugby fans first and...

So, the Riverina is well represented in the Super W again this weekend. A big congratulations to Brtiney-Lee Bedford making the starting line-up (not sure if this is a debut though?) Garraway and Perry combining in the backline and Skye Churchill (Illabo) also on board. Britney will no doubt...

SIRRA numbers are down considerably on recent seasons due to a range of factors. While there is a keen and willing core group of referees on board in 2018, there will be games this season that clubs will appoint to (CTA). SIRU, Brumbies and SIRRA will have some details out shortly on an...

Well done to Brittney Bedford (CSU Reddies) and Harriet Elleman (Wagga Ag College) for their selection in the Brumbies Women's squad v Rebels in Melbourne. Kicking off Friday 5pm on Fox Sports. There are also some other familiar names from the SIRU Women's Competition in Remi Wilton and...

I think you're reasonably close there mate, I hear good things out of Albury, Tumut retain the majority of their team, same for Leeton. CSU have picked up a couple of players, Aggies are reasonably quiet, City have lost some depth, Waratahs see some old faces return. I haven't heard much out...

Ha ha, Yes mate, there are some familiar faces back on board across a few clubs this season which should make for a more competitive season, particularly at the top end. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the first month of the competition, I see the first 5-6 weeks being really...

Or the time to allocate to coaching a successful rugby team? Imagine if the Steamers Committee discovered this. Maybe they were on to something? #conspiracytheoryinaction #coachmickr #steamers4lyf

My mail says otherwise, there was support from the clubs about additional rounds. I wonder what sort of forward planning the SIRU Board put into this concept? Potentially it's something that could be in train for the 2019 with the 2018 season used as an opportunity to discuss such options. I see...

The 2018 Draw has just been released. No additional rounds for the competition which was a point raised at the AGM last year. https://www.southerninlandru.com/seniors-draw.html

I wonder if this will help or hinder the Bulls? I know the Bulls have been drawing players from as far as Coolac, maybe there is potential for some players from a little closer to home...

I think the club's needed to respond to SIRU about their preferences for the additional rounds and change to finals series. I can see some value in the additional rounds but I'd be surprised if club's voted for the top 6 format. I don't have any mail on when the new draw will be out sorry folks.

    Mid North Coast Rugby

In the southern inland region, the club's would struggle to attract enough players per club for 15 a side. The club's weren't interested in a ten a side competition either as sevens aligned to the national pathway. We've seen a number of local players have success with the sevens format...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

The usual discussion around competition format and the 2018 Finals Series will be forwarded to all clubs. Some clubs looking to extend the regular season and SIRU putting forward a proposal for a "Crossover" type format to assist with this which would create at least two extra games per club...
