    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Badge has been in the thick of it. Getting involved in the rucks, and some nice support play.

I hope Simmons isn't reverting to type. Flubs and penalties

    Western Force 2015

McCalman was in sparkling form last year and won 8 (I think) caps. Cottrell has been a quiet achiever. A comparison of the stats would be interesting.

And on 2013 form. Unfortunately both blokes are a smidge too small.

    S18 on its way

I don't doubt you're keen to improve the rickety state of rugby across Australia, but I can't see how gifting the Force to SA and ARG rugby would help. That gives the ARU less power to negotiate against the NZRU/SARU/ARG RU, weakens any player/code development that may have gone on in Perth...

    S18 on its way

How would that affect attendance/TV viewership in Perth if the team is playing in SA/Southern Europe one week in two? Also doesn't help the ARU build the market in Perth, which was a key factor in establishing the team.

    Western Force 2014

And that's cool. But clearly people's biases are played out in the language they use: "over east", "the wild west", and "over there". WA clearly struggles to get any real positive attention/press/money among the rugby playing states. The place struggles for rugby recognition among the states...

    Western Force 2014

When you use terms like 'tyranny of distance' to downplay a perceived bias based around distance, are you not reinforcing that perception?

Reds, Rebels & Waratahs consider merging operations

The point is, Rugby WA, for better or worse, is not a drag on the ARU. And that is a fact (or #FACT!, as you have to say on the interweb machine.)

Reds, Rebels & Waratahs consider merging operations

Half-baked is right. Furphy, to be more precise. Rugby WA ie - the Force, are, as mentioned in numerous threads, solvent and had $3.97 m in cash reserves in 2011 (most recently available annual report, Dec 31, 2011, http://issuu.com/western_force/docs/2011_annual_report?e=0) No doubt they...

    Western Force 2014

No doubt good players want to play at winning clubs. But Izzy, Beale, a Test front row, countless other Wallabies and a Springbok? Something stinks.
