NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

They would need to be playing Colts or Club rugby as the Thirds comp is just not as strong and Grammar has yet to play Joeys, Scots, Riverview, Kings. Accept that the 1sts, and the very best of GPS 1sts is just a little stronger than the 3rds comp

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

I watched the entire game and Team Blue was first to score after soft defence from White.

Again, 2nd XV but not playing in the 3rds comp. Why yes I did hence the comments.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

Just dealing in facts. We aren't talking academics just rugby and the boys were out of their depth, this year. We can all feel good about selecting boys that aren't up to the standard. You won't hear me cry when my son isn't good enough to sit the 4 unit maths paper or the advanced english...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2014

It wasn't the case today then. There is a massive step in intensity and skill level for all players between the 3rds to 2nds and then 2nds to 1sts. They are jumping from the 3rds to the very best of the GPS 1sts.

36-25 to GPS. Why are SGS boys selected when they are playing in a Thirds Comp - surely there are stronger players in GPS 1s?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

Hold the faith and give the boys a chance. You have to build a winning team culture - no one sets out to lose its just that other teams are that much better.

    National U/16 Championships 2013

Significant Contributing Players: Sydney Juniors: #12 J Hawkins, #5 E Faatui, #8 C King, #3 W McRae Queensland Whites: #8 C McKenzie, #21 J Lenac, #13 D Riley ******************************* No 5 and No 3 for Juniors are good at the set piece but don't contribute much around the field in...

Shame 3 key players were playing 2nds today - Wright, Finnane and Horton. When penalty count is 18-3 against you, it makes a tough day at the office.

Facts usually speak for themselves and are independent of subjective hyperbole. 3/20 games won against Joeys says the program has a few holes (easily filled no doubt).

    National U/16 Championships 2013

PSS That is stating the obvious. Re Hutch and Kennewell, the only point being made is both boys have "made it" already so their need to impress isn't as strong as it is for others. Wouldn't it be good to cast the net a fraction wider to those boys who actually trialled, who are also 16 and who...

    National U/16 Championships 2013

Who is the other halfback? Agree re Strang, disagree re Travers not being one of 4 half backs. What about Finnane? No 1 prop for Pres A and not selected? Wright as an alternate back? Maybe when Hutcho pulls out...

Would have but for injury? Always been strong in this group, just ask Newington!

    National U/16 Championships 2013

Sorry, already put this on the wrong thread. What do you all think about Hutchison and Kennewell being selected for Under 16s schools when both are playing in NSW 2 and CS this week? Is this just Schools making sure they beat Qld or should two other 16s get a gig? No question as to their...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

Interested to know if this is the same Country team that played at Knox? If so, it was not strong against the other associations let alone super teams. Does anyone know? Poor guys - most of key players have "moved on" to greener and more lucrative pastures.

Posters, what do you all think about Hutchison and Kennewell being selected for Under 16s schools when both are playing in NSW 2 and CS this week? Is this just Schools making sure they beat Qld or should two other 16s get a gig? No question as to strength. Also, as others have noted, I have a...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

The analysis should be done after NSW Schools publishes its list of players as they draw from a common pool of players (with a few exceptions of those boys who do not play club). Hopefully they have thought about combinations of players after the debacle on the w/end.

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

Agree with these sage words. MNZ coaches made weird positional choices. At one stage No 8 was playing in centres? Leaver had a massive head gash at NSW Schools the week before so was on limited duties but agree. Chapman is a good 7 but a lock? Mmm. And the Warringah flanker playing as back up...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

Yes it was a controversial win from memory with MNZ snatching defeat from MWZ with a conversion at the death knell. Now that was a full strength side with Jack MgGregor, Henry Hutchinson, Guy Porter etc. playing MNZ but the MWZ put up a good tussle and were rewarded with Sydney jerseys. Better...
