Not quite $600M over ten they are giving the nrl for png.
They don't have to provide any funding to Tongan rugby, but they are and I'm sure the Tongans are grateful. Any other governments matching it?

Not across the league story. However seeing as PNG are our closest neighbours and Allies and it's probably the one country league is the number 1 sport and they'll be joining the competition it makes sense don't you think?

There's an on going story about the downstream consequences for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa to the that PNG investment:

Basically the influx of money into PNG, and flow on need for players, has the Fijian, Samoan, and Tongan unions (who are closely intertwined with their heads of government) very worried about using players to pro opportunities in PNG, and the damage that will do to the game. That has in turn got them looking towards Beijing for the funding to combat it - the exact opposite outcome the PacificAid program is trying to provide. That's why there is growing talk about a large step up in funding for Tongan (and Samoan/Fijian) rugby.

As usual the mungos are fucking everything up. Now they are somehow bringing china closer.

After the England-Wallabies game it's pretty obvious that Fisher's defensive systems are not working (anymore). Is there a coach at the Super Rugby level that could replace him when Kiss takes over?
I’m not sure there is at super level. I think Ben Mowen is doing some goods things at the Brumbies but I think he’s a bit new to be thrown into the Wallabies.

But hopefully the net is cast a bit wider than that.

Brad Harris is probably the best credentialed, but he has just joined the force so it's hard to see him jumping straight to the wallabies at season's end.

Much more like is Brad Davis, the Reds current defence coach who has worked with Kiss for years (and was briefly a wallabies assistant for Eddie). Given the short turnaround I'd be surprised if it's anyone else, but defence was Les Kiss' speciality when he was an assistant, so it's also possible they go without an assistant there (as they are currently doing for attack). Still, I think Davis is very likely to be there to ease the transition.

Does Skelton become available for the next few weeks? I've not really been following his situation I have to confess.
He has not been called in alongside Ikitau and Hooper. We are now in the reg 9 window so he theoretically is, but his side are playing a game next weekend (postponed from earlier in the season) so it's possible he'll join the squad after that.
