It would be worth it just to see the conniption from PVL, Rothfield et alEven at $2m/year he would be cheap based on the media exposure and sponsorship

Current deal was similar circa $550k/y and his value increases for rugby if he becomes more of a league name also. He's playing Centre in League but he's a Rugby Winger.
Underpaid in RL is high paid in Rugby though. Still got stock standard Wingers on 300-400k
Rothfield could not get any more bitter if you soaked him in a vat of vinegar. It would be worth it just to see the conniption from PVL, Rothfield et al
Underpaid in league is basically McReights salary these days.I thought wingers were the ones we could poach because they were underpaid in league.
Harsh burn but fair!True, it'd probably make him more sour though![]()
Even League pundits tell him to drop it recently. He's a guy clinging to relevancy in an age where his style is done.Rothfield could not get any more bitter if you soaked him in a vat of vinegar.
he also just welcomed his first child with his partner, so you'd assume wants to stay local.Des to announce his retirement as a kind way of dealing with both parties wanting out of the relationship.
All squad members from 20-30 on the depth chart are for sale. Is Carter worth a shot? Yeah, but for who....
I don't see another NRL wanting him when he's played only a couple of State Cup games.
I think with his injury and no real form to evaluate he’d be starting at square one. If he wants to continue his vocation as an athlete he may feel that he needs to take the highest offer which will likely not be that high.Des to announce his retirement as a kind way of dealing with both parties wanting out of the relationship.

There's room for a 10 at the Tahs....Really depends on the price he's asking - there's room at the Reds squad right now for another 10/utility, but not really a lot of money to spend on one, unless maybe McLaughlin-Phillips isn't re-signed, but I doubt he's on a lot yet. Unfortunately for Gordon the best way to slot him in is paired with Henry at 12 to handle the place kicking (and lean on the Wests connection), but it's hard to see the Reds going with both in the same squad, given their injury history. All the other (reliable) place kickers at the Reds are out and out 10s.
Easier for them to balance with Sua'ali'i being a competent place kicker too, but I suspect they've got the same issues with finding any decent amount of money under the cap space for another back. It also doesn't help much if he's keen to stay close to home. There's room for a 10 at the Tahs....
we won't loose any match because of our wingers, and Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase)'s workrate is the issue, he had one decent season of rugby before reverting to waiving for the ball on the wingThe Marky Marky chatter is continuing today after his great game over the weekend.
I think RA have more than a punchers chance to bring him back for the RWC. If we lose badly 0-3 to the Lions, I reckon it'll be even more likely they'll sign him up to some crazy contract in an effort to move the needle in 2027.
Not sure overpaying for another back is a great business decision though. I was actually quite impressed with Potter and Jorgo against Fiji for starters.
