How many players did Joeys have in the team that won last years Under 15 State Championship? The 'strongest by a stretch' might be a bit misleading but I agree, they're a quality side.

Will be exciting to see which boys from the 16s will play in the opens age groups.

Hopefully none. That would usually indicate a weakness in the 1st XV side. Lets hope everyone fields a full strength 16s side.

A player in the 15C's was apart of the two blues team that won last year. The year before when Norths won, there was a Ds player from Joeys as well. I think this goes to show level of club vs the level of school.

I believe Finn Hannon (flyhalf) has a very decent chance at 2XV for Joeys, as well as Julian Minto (fullback). Some new recruits in the forwards should make up for these losses. Then again, nearly all schools have new players. Should be a very interesting year.

Any Joeys and View boys have an idea of the 1XV lineup this year now that trials have started?

Majority of schools have not started trials yet with summer sport commitments only wrapping up on the weekend and HOTR still a week out

There are 3 players from that Two Blues team playing at Kings this year. My only point is that the Joeys 16A are the 'strongest by a stretch' may be a little optimistic. I still think they are the team to beat but it will be a close contest this year.

Weakness? if a boy from the u16s is better than the bloke older than him, why not play him. For example, Talen Rizzati wasn't a weakness in that Kings squad last year, he was probably one of their best. Again, he's just one of many.

Yes, Weakness. When the talent pool in a particular position in year 11 or year 12 is not strong enough that a year 10 boy is picked over them, it usually means there's a weakness in the talent pool, and I threw in 'usually' for the few rare examples. Mr Risati is one of those rare examples. But would he have been picked in the 2023 Kings winning team. I'd suggest he was poached for a reason and hazard a guess they were lacking some game changing backs in that cohort . If Kings had solid depth in the y10, y11 & y12 age groups would Talen have been offered a spot at Kings? And for that matter Hasani too. We'll never know.

2024 Scots 15As, with half the year in Glengarry, tied with View and beat Kings. Lost to Shore by 1 try. No walkover despite being heavily under strength.

This year the Scots 16a's are shaping up nicely, with a very strong side (without any imports, take notes joeys, kings and shore) and with proper coaches. The team are all coming together and creating a very good culture of playing fearlessly and absolutely killing riverview. It seems as though everyones undermining these Scots boys, who have performed decently since year 7, winning inconsistently, having defeated every school previously. The boys have come together from Glengarry and have improved considerably. Not saying they will win the comp, but don't count them out. Look out for these boys. #u16slaughteron31May@theswamp

No surprise that early reports indicate several U16 Kings boys have been cut from the large group that attended Opens preseason training, leaving just three remaining in the squad. Hopefully, all three rejoin the U16A team before the season begins.

I believe it might be Levi, Thomas, and Rory. They’re all great players, but hopefully, the Year 11 and Year 12 boys have the edge, keeping them in the 16s. Time will tell—injuries could play a role too!

this young man is ferocious and will do anything to get the upper hand. wouldn't be surprised if we saw him playing in the opens as well

Barker's 16s will dominate in key positions and prove too strong, especially if U15 recruit Tommy J plays up in the 16As.

I'd wager Joeys will unexpectedly lose to either Kings, View, or Shore—I’m just not sure which one. I believe Kings 15s beat them last year. The fight for 2nd and 3rd will be a tight contest.

Even a blind man's eye, it seems as if you have made a mistake. The boys in blue and white took out the 15s shield, and should undoubtedly be the favourites in the 16s. Any reasons against please feel free to share.

Yes, I did watch last season. I also watched the Under 15 State Champs, Sydney Regionals, U15 Waratah Next Gen & U15 Gen Blue, so feel I know which team has the cattle to win. The only question is how many of the u16 boys end up playing in the Opens or are ruled out because of injury.
I accept you have a different opinion, we'll see what happens throughout the season & best of luck to the view boys.

There is no way Newington are last on the ladder this year. I hear they‘re coming together well and may end up being the dark horse of the season.

This is in fact false. Joeys lost one and View lost one but also drew to Scots, meaning Joeys ended up one point ahead of View. Joeys had a rain out with Newington, however this does not change the result as both teams received 2 points, acting as a 'win' for both sides.

Next time please make sure you are have all your facts straight before making foolish, incorrect statements you gormless imbecile. Classic View boy.

OleMan Knox 16As are shaping up to be a really strong team this season so do not discount. Their forward pack was dominant at Camden the other week, one of their Props played Waratahs U15s I believe, and it shows. Not just strong in the scrum, but also quick around the field and really aggressive at the breakdown. The backline was just as dangerous with their #10. I’m told one of the Wingers and the Fly Half both played in the Waratahs Rugby 7s squad this year, which seem to give the team a lot of confidence. I think Round 1 is Knox vs Barker on May 17th which should be a cracker start to the season with rep players on both sides of the 16s, it’s going to be a fast, physical game.

Knox and Joeys have a trial match earlier next term I believe, should be a cracker if Knox is as good as you claim.

Knox also have a trial against Newington on the 26th April. Will be the first proper trial for the Newington boys so should be a good test for them.
