Yes, but the premise being we could have a blockbuster test match that attracts a lot of interest and a big crowd on a weekend that is becoming more and more synonymous with big sporting events.

It'd be a bit different to the old 3 game series given the gap between ANZAC Day and the Rugby Championship. Some years (when there's a truncated Rugby Championship) they might still only do 2 total.
I think it's a no brainer, it'd be massive for both unions. Sure, 2-4 Super Rugby teams with the most test players involved would be disadvantaged for 1 game, but this is surely a price worth paying.

Yeah, but it's personal opinion of how you choose to honour or commemorate the ANZACS. They didn't fight and die for us to be caught up respecting them a certain way. If you wanna go to dawn service that's fine, if you wanna have a beer with some mates that's fine too. Personally, all the sports do a bloody good job of showing respect.

I agree NZR haven't turned it down for noble reasons, merely because it doesn't make sense to them. If the money was too good to turn down, I sure they would consider it, I would still not like it.
RA have been quite honest, they can make big money out of it, and so don't mind chucking Super aside for a few weeks. I in no way suggesting they are wrong.
And make no bones, even apart from anything else another bloody test between the teams is not something that would excite me, like Derpus, I don't really want another test between Wallabies and ABs.

State of Origin series to spark interest in the NRL overall.. so suggesting that an ANZAC Day test would be 'chucking Super Rugby aside for a few weeks' is a bit disingenuous... The Conservative approach is to consider Super Rugby and a Test match as competition to one another, and not complementary to the overall marketing
Depending on the timing of ANZAC Day I figure you'd do something like the following:
ANZAC Day is Friday this year.
You make the round before a week with 3 teams on the bye (there are a couple of rounds like that this year). Drua and Moana are definitely not on a bye that week.
The test squads are smaller than usual because it's for a single game. You effectively do what the NRL State of Origin does and name a 23 plus a couple of emergencies and those players miss the round before so they get more time in camp.
On the ANZAC weekend you play an NZ game in the regular Friday timeslot then straight into the test. You have two Saturday games so 6 teams play that weekend (5 teams on a bye).
Almost all test players then only miss one game and you potentially extend the competition by one week (but you probably don't need to).
If ANZAC Day falls early in the week then you shorten the preparation but allow the test players to back up in the following round.

Reading more of Robinson's comments about needing it to be a Home and Away concept, the business model for NZ hosting it differed significantly from what RA had forecast from hosting it, and this is a big reason they aren't behind it.
Essentially, RA could make more money from it than NZRU can make hosting it, so they're not behind it. Lets see if NZRU come back to the negotiating table if RA negotiate some kind of profit sharing agreement...All these comments spread to the media might simply be Robinson posturing for more money.

Why don't they organise for a combined ANZ team to play a combined Turkish-German side? Seems more apt to me.

They won't come back Adam, and as I said NZR didn't turn it down for noble reasons (or my reasons) but because the money doesn't add up for them. RA wanted it (rightfully) for the money they would make. Noone in wrong I keep saying they both meant to look after what's best for their own countries.
I will add NZR have worked out there more money in playing SA 3 times a year, and Aus twice, thats the reality of it, I think.
