Trinity gave Knox a tough workout and were always in it. There is a gritty quality to this side. They need to use their fullback more. He made some good breaks. Knox defence was the standout - though they looked a little flat. But in saying that I am probably not giving Trinity sufficient credit.

Barker won a even contest with both teams putting a in fine performance. Both back lines were crisp with passes sticking and tackles being made.
A slick Allos back line move sore their 11 Andrew Garnon score a good try.
Barker responded with their no11 Sean Hasegawa retrieving a Allo's kick with interest. The following mall had the Barker 10 Sam Carrick take on his opposite number with success and score.
Both conversions missed and it was 5 all at halftime.
Second half was again even before Alloys through injury started bringing on replacements in the forwards. This hampered them and the Barkers pack started to dominate. Possession and field position swung towards Barker. A penalty by Barker 15 Jamie ? had Barker 8/5 in front with 15 min to go.
A strong Barker back line move saw the Barker 15 in again and with the conversion made it 15/5 at full time.

Probably 15s. Bit of both. Waverley no doubt fired up after losing to Knox last week.
Such matches clearly highlight why schoolboy rugby should move to a divisional system across all schools. Who benefits from that result today? Let the strong teams fight it out and the less strong teams have their own competition where all teams get to win an even share of matches. Australian rugby overall would be much better off with the best players being tested/extended every week from u13s rather than once or twice a season.

Aloys played well today considering they looked to have a few injuries (5, 10, 13). The big 11 bailed them out a few times from a solid Barker defence. Barker just fell apart in the second half but were playing some good footy at times. Best players on park were the Aloys 11, 12 and 9 and Barker 7.

Great game today between the Cranbrook 16A's and the Waverley 16A's. It was a hard fought game that went right down to the wire but saw Waverley edging out Cranbrook by a low score of 7-6. However the scoreline does not indicate how the game was actually played. Waverley dominated most of the game with 63% of possession and were tackled in opp 22 only 8 times. Waverley also had 2 tries disallowed which to the naked eye were trys. Cranbrook never crossed the line taking the 3 points on 2 occasions inside Waverley's 22. Cranbrook's fly-half Finnbar Stenmark was outplayed by Waverley's fly-half Ben Donaldson. Donaldson showed today that he is more than capable of being the CAS 10 as he displayed a great kicking game today and led his troops around the park. Waverley has shown it is first 3 games that is defiantly the favorite to take out the trophy in this 2015 CAS U16 season. Sins report.

Can't call them favourites when they lost to Knox last week? Note: students either make a real account and make real, legitimate, mature and informed comments or don't bother. if you think it's a real comment, feel free to chuck his name into Google and see what results come up.
that might work at 1st XV level but you can't have every team in every age group playing different schools. Each school basically has to play the same school. It would be a logistical nightmare otherwise.

Agree - it's bad enough in the GPS which has a separate Thirds/Ones competition - and who can say who the stronger/weaker teams are going to be when the draw is made??

I wanted to road test an idea on the forum after watching the Waverley 15Ds v Cranbrook 15Cs yesterday. Because Trinity and Cranbrook asked that their Bs be matched against Knox & Waverley Cs the Bs game was between Knox and Waverley (who also played against each other last week - they'll be sick of the sight of each other at season's end).
Anyway, the Cs v Ds game was fine but both teams had 10-11 players on the bench which I assume is because they were short of getting enough for a Ds and Es respectively. Both schools ran their reserves on and off as often as possible to give the boys a run.
The thought occurred to me that there must be other schools in this position and that there may be some merit in allowing schools to run a 10 a-side team where the same conditions exist. So, rather than having 10 reserves there could have been a Ds v Es 10 a side game prior to the Cs v Ds. This wouldn't work for every match obviously but where schools find themselves in a similar position there is surely more benefit in 10 boys getting a full game with less players rather than being subbed on and off constantly.
Sportsmasters could arrange it in the week leading up to the Saturday if there was interest in the other school - otherwise they could revert to the 10-man bench or search for a GPS/ISA school in the same position. When rugby is such a marginal sport surely we should be doing all we can to encourage as much participation as possible.

You are probably right that logistics would prevent it, but it would be possible to do what SJRU does every year and grade teams (agreed, it's far from perfect). And would it be so difficult to grade? There tends not to be too much movement year to year - the teams that wins 13As in either CAS, GPS or ISA tends to be in top 2 or 3 each year thereafter. I still maintain that it can't be good to be in a school team which gets beaten by 50+ six - eight times a season. I think the schools could do better than say 'that's just the way it is - too difficult to change it'.
