That's an option WSilson, but if it happens then Harry doesn't add to the quality of the team off the bench. A backrow of Valetini, Tizzano and Wilson is all round stronger than CDC, Tizzano and Wilson.

No. I am happy with Bell starting and Ross off the bench. My comment was that Ross does not improve the team when Bell leaves. He is not a better all round player than Angus Bell. I expect Bell might be looking at long minutes in this game.

The point of it generally seems to be to give Valetini license to go all out for 60 or so, rather than having to pace himself. It also looks to be why the partnerships have always been work rate back rows with Valetini, with a guy like Gleeson only really getting a chance to start when Valetini was out. At the 60 minute mark I think you are getting a fair bit more out of a fresh Wilson than a tired Valetini in an impact role. Yes, you can say the same about Wilson over CdC from minute 1-80, but the idea is that CdC is there to do the work, not blow the game open, and in that role there is much less decline across the 80 (assuming his fitness is good enough).

I hope that things are going well enough on the weekend that Valetini can be pulled off early, as his presence is going to be extra important against England the following week, particularly with no Skelton and Hooper in the squad...

Who takes over the goal kicking if/when Edmed leaves? I suppose Kellaway has some form? But none of Lonergan, Stewart or Kellaway are first choice kickers at Super level if I'm not mistaken.

Stewart is a reasonable but not great kicker. I imagine the order will be Lonergan, Stewart, Daugunu, Kellaway depending on who is on the field.

I’m not sure why you’re complaining about something that can’t be controlled then? I also don’t think the front row will be the issue as such. Ross will be fine against their front row. Honestly, we should pump them based off who’s in the team. It’s simply the number of changes that may make things interesting for us. But we haven’t played for a number of weeks so it’s not like it’s that much of a disruption. Backs are a bit small with JAS but getting Pietch back is very handy. I would have preferred that Carter off the bench (instead of Stewart) or played last weekend for Aus XV.

I'd suggest that Flook has a pretty good eye for the game and OK playmaking. Not at 10 and not actually as a first preference for "second fly" at this level. But he can distribute.
